Definitely stay away from the beer in these hot temps as Booyah just said. I too don’t touch the beer when it’s hot like this…..I always opt for the Wild Turkey instead. Still 1-1 as we venture on to the 4th.

Miles has set down the last 9 batters. Pitch count a little high to get through six. Oli might lean on him a little to get to that point.

Abbott at 72 heaves through 4 frames. We’ll only see him for one more inning….thank God.

Yeah, Pugs, he’s collected those 6 K’s thru 4 IP’ed which is unusual for Mikolas. He’s only allowed 2 hits so far and is working a nice turn. It’s hot and the pitch count is up over 70, but Miles is from Southern FL so he’s probably well accustomed to laying in the sun and watching all the pretty peaches walking on the beaches…Haha!

Watching that hose spraying water outside the ballpark rekindles memories of racing back and forth through our front lawn sprinkler as a kid. It’s so hot today up here in the frozen tundra that I wouldn’t mind going a few rounds with the lawn sprinkler right now……the neighbors would get a big kick out of it too.

Another PB by Pozo cost us this time

I guess they’ll cut Mikolas after 5. Forgot that Graceffo who called up might end up throwing some innings today.

Reds plate 2 in the 5th to take a 3-1 advantage. We need to come right back at them. Boy there’s a lot of empty seats behind home plate…..what a crying shame. Our reputation as one of baseball’s greatest fans is going to take a hit if this keeps up.

You know it’s hot today right? Some of those people are in the shade. Some stayed at home and I don’t blame some for doing that.

The fair weathered and people who travel a good distance for a day or evening trip have not bought back in. That is what is killing attendance.

Seems like the Cubs fans don’t want to show up in this weather as well. Plenty of tickets for the upcoming series.

When I see the lefty working out there on the mound, I’m reminded of how well Herrera was swinging the bat before he landed on the IL. Hopefully Saggese will make some key contributions.

Yep losing Herrera really stings. He has been arguably our best hitter. We need some guys to step up until Ivan can get back into the batter’s box in a few weeks.

4-1 Redlegs as we enter inning #8. Graceffo your new Cards hurler.

Yeah it’s hot today, but those vacant seats were there when it was 70 degrees too. The joint will be rocking this coming week with the Chicago fan infusion.

Well, there’s one as Winn manages to reach via the BB.

Whoops…Barrero draws the BB. Oh well, a baserunner’s a baserunner and we still need a another baserunner…Haha!

Abbott is certainly the real deal. He’s in for a hefty pay increase next year.

The box score will claim a little less than 30K in attendance. That’s pretty good…

    One run through eight innings.

I don’t guess there’s any reason for me to say it again. It should be obvious by now.

Well yeah, only 1 run, but they do have 3 hits. And there’s still the home half of the 9th…

Just a small sample size of looking at sections for tickets but I just priced tickets in the $24-$68 range for Monday and you would be able to walk up to the ticket office and have absolutely no issues finding a loge, LF Bleacher and many of the 1st and 3rd base line 300-400 sec and OF 300-400 tickets. They have sections that are almost or completely empty up in 300-400. OF loge 269-272 is almost empty as well. I don’t think it will be as rocking as you think. If we got 33-34K I’d be shocked tomorrow. While the cubs fans will help they are staying away as well due to the heat.

They really went quietly today. Not even a murmur.

A gentleman’s bet with Booyah…..I’m taking the over on 34K attendance for tomorrow night’s game. I’m predicting 35,813.

    Game over……4-1 Redlegs the final.

Cubs trail Seattle 9-6 in the top of the 8th. The Mariners are threatening.

If Seattle can hang on the Cubs will have lost two straight. Perhaps they are on the verge of a losing skid and we can make some hay this week.

In the meantime the Reds have the Yankees and Padres this week at Crosley Field.

I’d choose the over too, Pugs. In fact, it won’t surprise me if the box reads close to 40K. The Cubbies are playing well and I don’t think too many of their fans will let the StL. heat deter them from a rare chance to see their team play the Redbirds while the Cardinals are looking up at them in the NLC. I also think a lot of fans in the StL. area who are simply across the board baseball fans will want to get a look at who Rat calls the “Crowbar”…Haha!

Looks like somebody told the Cardinals today was a day off.
