I really like having O’Brien and Granillo now in the Cards pen. That really shores up the bullpen alongside Matz, Leahy, Maton, Romero, and Helsley. John King is now low leverage or lefty specialist which is his ideal spot. At this point, I don’t see any need to make any Memphis shuttle moves unless the pen just gets gassed.

Uh oh, I made a bad mistake. Upon closer examination I see that the Redbirds are tied with SD for that precious 3rd WC spot and in reality trail the Padres by .002 pct. pts. in the standings…It’s gonna go down to the proverbial wire!

I haven’t seen too much of Granillo, but I really like him simply because when he makes an appearance and does really good, I can say he’s a beast and call him, “The Gorilla”…Haha!

Haha the Gorilla. Granillo beyond his name fits that a little bit as well as he looks like quite a muscular guy and is quite big bodied guy. I think you will grow to like him more and more as Granillo gets more shots.

Yeah, Albert, he’s got that rough and tough looking beard and at 6-4 250 lbs, he’s a genuine tank. But all these guys these days are seemingly as big as a house. Throw in the weight training regimens that almost all of them particiate in and I’d guess that most of these pitchers could take on King Kong in an arm wrestling match. In any case, the first time I saw Granillo’s name was in the small print of a box score and I wasn’t wearing my readers. The letters looked blurred to a degree that for a second or two I really thought his name was, “Gorilla”…Haha!

Couldn’t sleep last night, so I got up and turned on MLV-TV and caught our birds in the 4th leading 1-0. Ended up watching the rest of the game. Got a little sloppy there at the end. Fortunately most of the slop was on the other guys and we walked away with the W. I’ll take THEIR slop any day,
    Rah Cardinals!
