This team wobbled in the Royals series but then found their footing again in the Dodgers series but that blown save by Helsley in game one of the Blue Jay series was a real gut punch. We still haven’t recovered and appear to be spiraling down the drain. Crank up the sell off in July.

Hopefully Front Row Amy will be in attendance in this one. She wasn’t there last night.

And with Fedde going against Peralta, well, odds are against us. But I guess there’s a reason you play the game.

And what’s for din din today you ask? It’s a CCFF out at the Amish restaurant! Then later tonight, instead of a late Barnaby Jones episode, me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the Giants/Doyers game from Doyer Stadium.

The Cardinals are in 9th place in attendance out of the 15 NL teams, edging out the Brewers who are in 10th place. The Rockies occupy 11th place.

I have my eyes on this beautiful property over-looking Lake Monona in Madison. It would be the perfect spot for that restaurant(Fiddlers On the Roof) I’ve been thinking of starting when I retire in a few years. Beautiful main level area for indoor dining and this beautiful upstairs porch looking out over the lake for outside summer din-dins. Besides steaks, we would offer crab legs, lobster, walleye, cod, blue gill and of course our specialty, Catfish Fiddlers. On weekend evenings we’d have a classy Fiddler playing music live up on the porch. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Peralta will be a tough hombre to get the better of tonight, but the same could have been said about Sonny last night…….and look what happened. Our floundering ship must be righted tonight. These Brewers are good, but that’s it……good, not great or anything remotely resembling greatness. I like our odds for winning this ballgame…….5-3 Birds sounds about right to me.

At first glance I happened to see that Scott was 3 for 13 in his last 5 games, which isn’t too awfully bad, especially when you notice that he’s also managed to coax 3 BB’s in those same 5 games. However, looking back a little further at his past history says he’s 3 for 25 in his last 10 games and that plain hurts. However, those sparse 3 hits have all come in the Toronto series, so maybe he was working his way out of the abyss. In any case, Siani’s now with the Big League club, so I guess the braintrust feels obligated to play him out there in CF. Personally, I wish Willie or Jimmy were still around to man up out there…

Those Brewer threads are way past a little bad. And Peralta sporting the yellow cleats doesn’t do much to mitigate the look…

1TD, it is a shame the Brewers have these ugly City Connect jerseys. I think the Cards cream white jersey is the best jersey in baseball, but the Brewers blue road jerseys have to be top 5 in baseball for me as well. The grey home jersey for the Brewers is just okay though.

Yeah, every one of those so-called “city connect” uniforms that I’ve seen are, to varying degrees, garish. A couple of them would quite possibly be considered offensive enough to be deemed illegal in several third world countries…

Looking at jerseys around the league, here is how I have my top 5.

    1. Cardinals cream white home jersey
    2. Dodgers white home jersey
    3. Brewers blue road jersey
    4. Mariners cream home jersey
    5. Giants orange with cursive jersey

The Red Sox city connect one is just awful. I went to a game there a couple of years ago and there were so many people wearing those hideous jerseys

Looking at all the City Connect jerseys, the only one I even kind of like is the Seattle one

I’m partial to the traditional bright white Redbird home jersey with the classic StL lettered red cap. And for the road, there’s no question that the greys with the navy blue caps are far and away the way to go.

I’m entirely aware that the latest fashion matters, but I wouldn’t care if the fellas took to the playing field dressed out in lavender colored yoga pants if it would help to snap this 5 game losing streak…

At least Herrera had snapped the no hitter last half inning. And Brewers take the lead.

My goodness…It looked almost like the Nootz was positioned in CF on that run scoring double from Contreras.

1TD, I can’t believe way back when they played in wool uniforms. I can’t imagine playing in wool in peak summer mid day with high 90s temps

Burly with a lead off double. You have to drive this run in

Arenado with a double to tie it up. He has been more clutch lately with runners in scoring position.

Yeah, ATM, those old baggy wool uniforms had to have been murder during all those day games played in the heat of high summer. And even today, I can’t understand how some of these players like, Blackmon and Marsh can take to the field and play 9 innings in July with as much or more fur covering them as Sasquatch…If I tried that I’d itch so much I’d look like a dog with fleas…Haha!

I thought that fly ball was going to spin Burleson around and eat him up, but he somehow managed to squeeze it.
