Nope, he’s right where he has been historically. About a .240 hitter. He’s like most of the Cardinals – he can’t hit.
We spent the evening at a youth park yesterday, softball and hardball games We watched 3 games. Time in a bottle.
Granillo looked good tonight.
He was solid. A little less amped up than normal, but when you come into a 6-0 game and you’re asked to go 2 2/3 when you’re used to going 1 or 2, he needed to stay composed and just make pitches.
I hope they don’t send him down tomorrow just because he won’t be available for a couple days.
Obviously not what you want to see with who’s supposed to be the team’s premier member of the rotation attempting to put an end to a 4 games losing streak. You didn’t even to have to watch this one. A quick glance at the box says flat and lifeless and the standings now say a 3rd place team that’s 6 games back. I don’t know who’s going to provide it, but the ship is listing and is obviously in need of some sort of ballast to provide stability before it capsizes.
Let the rebuild begin again! It’s too bad. I understand losing the final game to the Dodgers but can’t get swept by the Blue Jays. Helsley has been very disappointing this year.
Well, it’s starting to get rough.
The team is consistently inconsistent – I have no idea what the problem is, how to fix it, or if it even can be fixed.
I have a feeling that none of Bill, Mo, Marmol, or Bloom do either. If Bill can’t or won’t afford to put a good team on the field then I wish he’d sell out to someone that will although just throwing money at a roster doesn’t necessarily work either.
Looks like another lost season – hopefully it won’t also be another wasted season meaning that, tepid baseball aside, decisions are finalized on players like Gorman and Walker.
The other night when they pinch hit Vilade for Gorman in an important at bat, I can tell you it let all the air out of my sails. I can imagine what the team thought. 3 days later the guy is dfa. This current manager and gm could mess up a junkyard. Until they’re gone, I can’t take the organization seriously. Stick with what were your stated objectives before the season started.

Bill seems fine with the way things are going. 2mil spent on players in the last 15mos, that isn’t trying to change anything. Looks like sitting on your hands in preperation for mlb welfare checks.

There is zero self-discipline with this owner, POBO and GM, but they do rank #1 if sorted by Knee-Jerks. Vilade couldn’t be a better example of clueless management.
If you can put a mediocre team on the field and still make comfortable bags of money, why bother investing more or hiring quality leadership? You have to care about winning. And that doesn’t appear to be a motivating factor.
