The replay officials in NYC apparently want us to win. Can’t believe it wasn’t overturned.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThey’ve been laughing about our strike zone in NY, so they threw in a small make-up call.
June 8, 2025 at 1:55 pm #284415The call on the field “stands” which just means they weren’t 100% sure. If they were sure he was out they use the term “confirmed”. Hard to tell if one of those spikes on his shoes wasn’t still barely touching. But yeah, it looked like he probably was just off the base.
June 8, 2025 at 1:57 pm #284416
jj-cf-stlParticipantDoes McG have 90 pitches in recent starts?
June 8, 2025 at 1:58 pm #2844174 McGreevey strikes have now been balls. Admittedly that last one was just barely. He has gotten no balls called strikes.
June 8, 2025 at 1:59 pm #284418JJ – he threw 75 last time as they pulled him early to keep him fresh. But yes is the answer.
June 8, 2025 at 2:01 pm #284419
jj-cf-stlParticipantCan we beat 4 mvps and a home plate umpire? Better overachieve!
June 8, 2025 at 2:07 pm #284420
jj-cf-stlParticipantNoot swinging at pitches off the plate. He knows.
June 8, 2025 at 2:08 pm #284421If Kershaw is dealing like this then it doesn’t matter how many MVP’s or home plate ump we have against us.
June 8, 2025 at 2:08 pm #284422Noot has done more of that lately – swinging at bad pitches.
June 8, 2025 at 2:15 pm #284423
jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s the PR that sells too.
June 8, 2025 at 2:15 pm #284424McGreevey throwing better the last 2 innings. That was a lucky double for Edman off a good pitch. Good strikeout of Kim.
June 8, 2025 at 2:36 pm #284426Freddie hurts the cause with the GG at 1B.
June 8, 2025 at 2:43 pm #284427Well, Winn puts us up on the board. Nice play by Conforto to keep it from rolling to the wall or another run scores.
June 8, 2025 at 2:48 pm #284428“Nice play by Rick Monday”…
June 8, 2025 at 2:50 pm #284429Kershaw was really good today. Not vintage Kershaw because he didn’t have 95 mph. But he hit his spots well and had great movement.
McGreevey looked like Woodford for the first 2 innings. He’s looked pretty good since. He still needs to not be quite as predictable when he gets 2 strikes. But I can understand his apprehension throwing to the Dodgers.
June 8, 2025 at 2:51 pm #284430I can’t think of more challenging counterpart for McGreevy to have encountered for today’s game. Possibly Koufax?
June 8, 2025 at 2:57 pm #284431McGreevey gets through 6 after 101 pitches. He was good for 4 innings and terrible the first 2. But he never lost his composure, which is great. He should be a fixture in our rotation for a long time.
June 8, 2025 at 3:00 pm #284432Cardinals are trying to make some noise now that the HOF’er has quit the building…
June 8, 2025 at 3:10 pm #284433Man…Betts gets the run back.
June 8, 2025 at 3:21 pm #284434Manny gets us started by drawing the PH BB! That Manny’s a genuine spark plug…
June 8, 2025 at 3:52 pm #284435Svanson with a rough inning walking 2 batters and hitting 2 batters plus a wild pitch that may have been more on Pages than Svanson. 2 runs score and Betts leaves the bases loaded.
June 8, 2025 at 4:04 pm #284436Svanson nearing 50 pitches here in the Top of the 9th as he walks his 3rd batter. Needs to get one more out.
And he strikes out Will Smith to finish at 52 pitches over 2 innings. At least he saved the rest of the pen as they are short 1 with 6 starters right now.
June 8, 2025 at 4:41 pm #284437A disappointing, but not altogether unexpected outcome. We must forget this sweep thing and satisfy ourselves with taking two of three from the best team in baseball.
As Red told Andy, “Hope is a dangerous thing.”
June 9, 2025 at 5:42 am #284440McGreevy got hit early but pulled it together and went six. Very nice.
