I hope we win one of these Thursday DH games. Our reward is the Doyers starting on Friday night.

Just arrived back from a grueling day down at the ole’ salt mines. Is this 6:45p starting time still a happening thing? What’s for din-din one may ask? It’ll be a trip here shortly over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, where I’m thinking some sort of fish dish. Unfortunately, they do not have catfish fiddlers on the menu, so I’ll have to opt for Plan B. Afterwards, I’ll swing on through Popeye’s drive thru lane to grab 3 apple cinnamon pies…….which may be even further enhanced (if that’s possible) with 3 hefty scoops of Breyers vanilla bean ice cream. Let’s get the twin bill sweep and make it 4-6 from these knobs……shall we?

Ha! You need to take the plunge and go on in, Scotty. I’ll warn you in advance, do NOT buy just one of their glorious apple cinnamon pies. If you do, you’ll be heading back to pick up a couple more. Remember the old apple pies from McDonald’s? Well, these from Popeye’s are literally 50 times more tasty. Their red beans and rice is a winner as well. Catfish fiddlers would fit like a glove will what they offer up. Maybe one day.

The Cardinals emerged as the beneficiary in the first game which clearly illustrated that if the visiting team doesn’t score at least 2 runs in their half of extras, more times than not, they’re in trouble. The inane extra inning format has served to entirely eliminate not only the intense atmosphere, but also the gamesmanship and strategy which had always made up the very essense and high drama of an extra inning baseball game. The format that is now in place almost always relegates these extra inning games to a foregone conclusion and, in my view, the entire thing could only be conjured up by a first rate dim-wit.

Well, if you’re going to come from behind, it’s nice to have 27 outs to do so.

After the solid base hit from Witt, I thought to myself that if I were a Royal’s fan I’d want him hitting in the 3 slot…

A Nootbaar walk and singles by Winn and Contreras score Noot. Herrera and Arenado shut down the risp opp.

With 2 outs why isn’t Scott motoring on the first pitch?

I can’t recall the last time the Nootz has looked that bad during an AB with a RISP.

Throwing as many lefties at us as possible, is a good game plan.

Liberatore not having any luck throwing meatballs down the middle to hitters. Most major league pitchers don’t.

It may take 10 or more runs to place this one in the correct column.

Looks like Liberatore had hit a bit of a cold spell. Hopefully after this game he will snap out of it. Jnevel was Libby just throwing meatballs down the middle earlier?
