Most everyone knows that Bruce Sutter wore number 42 while he was a Cardinal, but both Curt Flood and CYA winner John Denny also once wore that number on the back of their Redbird jerseys.

Bad jump by Walker but great recovery. Overall he is much better in the OF and looks like an average defensive RF’er.

Ah I type that and he has to get rid of that ball as soon as he gets it. He nails that guy at home if instant throw home

Wow what a play by Fedde in self defense. It even popped up out of his glove, but he still got it

He kind of gets lost in the mix, but Gehringer was a beast with a bat in his hand, Carter. And you’ll like this…In 1929 he amassed 717 PA’s and K’d 19 times…Haha!

Alverez knows what to do with one of those.

Wasn’t even close on the CS. Need about 3 runs.

Back under .500. Calling a win tomorrow though to get back to .500 again

Ah, my morning disappointment, opening the Cardinal website to discover that while I was happily nestled under the covers my beloved Cardinals were busy not scoring any runs.

They DO know, don’t they, that it is not possible to win a baseball game if they don’t score any runs?

I remember Denny wearing number 36. I always liked him.

Me too, Gscottar, but according to BR, he wore #42 during his brief stint with the Cardinals in ’74. He was a decent member of the rotation for the Cardinals for several years along with Forsch, Rasmussen and later on, Vuckovich. I looked at the rosters for those teams and unfortunately refreshed my memory with some genuine clunkers with names like Falcone and Urrea. And don’t forget the illustrious Rapp, who in my view is the second worst Cardinal manager in my minute or two as a Redbird fan…

Donovan with another hit today gives him 27 for the season which leads the entire Big Leagues. That’s a lot of hits for 18 games.
