Regarding Francona, here are the Reds results the last six years.

    2020 w/o Francona .517 win %
    2021 w/o Francona .512 win %
    2022 w/o Francona .383 win %
    2023 w/o Francona .506 win %
    2024 w/o Francona .475 win %
    2025 with Francona .503 win %

I am not seeing the needle moving yet.

It seems Walker for sure needs to go to AAA and stay there until he’s a AAA all-star.

Gorman – I think this is just about what he is as a player.

We’ve all beat the dead horse to a pulp but that’s mainly because the Cardinals have not given us anything else to talk about.

They have essentially played out the contract string with every single player – especially Mikolas.

There is very little excitement around the Cardinals and nothing about 2026 has me looking forward to it. I think the absolute best to hope for is WC3 – I mean, just play a handful of games over .500 and you can ‘be a playoff team’.

The Cardinals have become about as ho-hum an organization as is possible; not terrible but certainly not good.

At his age and ceiling, no way that you give up on Walker yet. Let’s reevaluate his situation next year at this time. Gorman unfortunately is pretty much a bust. You win some and you lose some…..we certainly lost one with Gorman. Speaking of taking it on the chin, Jnevel and I sure didn’t peg the Wildcats- Bosse game correctly last evening. I had Bosse winning by 11 and Jnevel had them prevailing by 6. Bosse got royally pelted to the tune of 63-0. That’s $5.25 down the drain between us.

Pugs – I’ve paid my $.25 bet to my bookie who drove all the way over from Indiana to collect it. Boy oh boy were we wrong backing Bosse!

the Reds and Rangers also have big league rosters, which helps their managers. The Giants may be the team to watch for that last NL payoff spot. The Mets are in trouble.

    Two things:

    1. Walker is a bust.

    2. No manager can win without talent.

    One thing:

Where in blazes have you been, Nate? You’ve been missed, buddy! Nate here was an original poster from The Birdhouse, dating back to just after the turn of the century. He’s only been MIA for about 6 years or so. Interesting tidbit about Nate……he has a documented IQ of 182……and a baseball IQ in the neighborhood of 282.

Pugs – are you at the game flagging down the beer vendor? The saying back in the day was “beer and whiskey, pretty risky, whiskey and beer, never fear.” So your Wild Turkey first and beer second should be good! 🙂
