At this moment in time, my first choice to replace the whiz-kid would be Danny Descalso. I think he’d be a first rate Big League manager and Willie Jr. would be happy with the price.

I dont blame the fans. I havent had the funds this year but i doubt i would have went if i had them. I dont think cardinal fans expect them to spend like the rich teams but they do expect them to excel in other areas which can make up for that.

Im not sure they are replacing marmol. If you have low expectations why change.

Far as tonight goes, unless oviedo was having some unknown issues, it was pretty dumb to take him out. Cardinals were kind of lost against him.

I’m not sure either, Willie. For all I know he may occupy the top step for more games than TLR, Red and Whitey combined before he’s all through. We may learn to love the little guy…

Pirates third baseman lets a ball go right through his legs and they give the cardinals hitter a double. Crazy.

Yeah, Willie, the official scorers must like lofty ERA’s these days. If I were a pitcher, I’d have to get my union rep to file a grievance…

Win a WS? I’m guessing that when the ’25 season comes to a close, his career managerial record will be well below sea level.

I have to say that for a guy with a name like Riley O’Brien, he sure doesn’t look like a guy who’s nickname would be anywhere close to, Danny Boy…

Cardinals are now 5-3 in games decided in the manner of a walk-off. That’s pretty good.

Referring to earlier comments here about Spahn and Mantle, the comments made me wonder if baseball hasn’t been turned into a confederacy of wusses. Whatever happened to “Hey, get up, shake it off and get back in there?” Nowadays when somebody gets a little splinter in his finger or a “contusion” on his butt it is straight to the IL or at least a couple of weeks on the bench (excellent treatment for a butt contusion I might add). People frequently talk about bigger, better, stronger athletes of today. I don’t see it. The slightest little discomfort and call in the docs! I wonder how many splinters and contusions Cal Ripken played through. I guess that’s what millions upon millions has done to the game. Baseball has found a way to find body parts to injure that nobody has ever heard of.

And nobody told Cal he needed a day off every week!

17,675 is weak. I wonder what the gate was.

!! hits is strong, led by Burly. McGreevey wasn’t lights out, but he kept it close enough and reeled off 6 IP. It was vs the Pirates, but still a nice win.

It looked to me like Wilson was walking away when ump said something to him so he turned to say something back then the clown ump said something that really set him off. Umps just need to STFU and stop trying to start shit with players like that.

Agreed. The ump should get a fine and a suspension.
