Hate giving up on players, but that’s exactly where I’m at with both Gorman and Pallante. To only go back 6 months with the opportunity to trade Gorman for something tangible……something you can touch would be a dream. Now he has little if any trade value. I value Saggese much more than I do Gorman……even considering that I’ve now cooled on him a bit.

And the Cubs are on the verge of winning their 3rd straight game against Milwaukee. They lead the Brewers 4-2 in the 9th at Wrigley.

Been absent tonight. Went to the Amish restaurant, had a cigar, came home, me and Whitey Herdog got up on the bed, and we both fell asleep. Just finished my late supper of fried eggs and a couple of ice cream sandwiches.

Cubs still lead 4-3 in the top of the 9th. Milwaukee has the bases loaded, two outs, and William Contreras digging in.

    UPDATE:
William Contreras lined out to end the game. 4-3 Cubs your unhappy final. They are now back to within six (6) games of Milwaukee. One left in this series tomorrow at Wrigley.

Mop up guy is the one place we’ve got depth. Bloom can scratch that off his to do list.

And if for some reason they can’t answer the bell, we’ve always got Brad Thompson upstairs in the booth. We’re long term fixed at mop up.

The Reds are now just 1 game off the pace for a WC berth. Maybe it does indeed help to have a genuine Big League manager.

The Brewers and Cubs game is suddenly an important one on Thursday. If the Cubs win that will be their 4th straight over Milwaukee and they will only be five (5) games out with momentum on their side. If Milwaukee wins they pretty much got what they wanted in this series – two wins. They will be back to seven (7) games up and will have stalled any momentum the Cubs had.

It will be Priester and Imanaga on the mound in this one.
