Well, no matter the outcome, at least they have a chance to win a game against a team that I still believe is the odds on favorite to win the WS.
August 4, 2025 at 10:56 pm #289673Man Herrera kills lefties!
August 4, 2025 at 10:56 pm #289674And just like that Herrera improves that chance with the solo tater.
August 4, 2025 at 10:56 pm #289675
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe power is back on, hope it lasts.
August 4, 2025 at 10:57 pm #289676Have I ever said Ivan Herrera can hit, hit, hit. He crushes mistakes and has a great all fields approach that gives him a consistently high BA.
August 4, 2025 at 11:01 pm #289677Marmol should get some credit for putting Ivan in the 2 hole. If you’re going to have Scott (at 9), Donovan, and Burleson grouped up, you’re just inviting the other manager to put a lefty in against you. So you take advantage of that and hide one of the best lefty mashers in baseball in between. Some day they will just walk him. But that day is not today.
August 4, 2025 at 11:03 pm #289678Well the pen gives up the lead promptly after the Cards took it back
August 4, 2025 at 11:06 pm #289679Herrera is indeed the best hitter in baseball against left handed pitching this season of anyone with 60 or more plate appearances. And he added to that tonight.
August 4, 2025 at 11:17 pm #289680Pozo comes through to take the lead
August 4, 2025 at 11:18 pm #289681Pozo lays off a couple outside pitches and the pitcher comes inside to Pozo which is where he loves the ball. Nice hitting from a guy who came out of nowhere to get big hit after big hit in key spots this season.
August 4, 2025 at 11:19 pm #289682
jj-cf-stlParticipantPozo didn’t get the memo. He just plays, rather well.
August 4, 2025 at 11:22 pm #289683As a starter, Pozo is kind of meh at the plate. But as a substitution or pinch hitter, Pozo turns into Lou Gehrig. Pretty amazing.
August 4, 2025 at 11:23 pm #289684Victor Scott needs to spend his offseason in bunting school.
And now here’s where we begin to miss Helsley . . .
August 4, 2025 at 11:24 pm #289685Great catch by Nootbaar. He had a lot of ground to cover
August 4, 2025 at 11:25 pm #289686
jj-cf-stlParticipantWhen you are done slicing the overall stands.
August 4, 2025 at 11:26 pm #289687The Nootz lays it all out there for a spectacular play in RF.
August 4, 2025 at 11:26 pm #289688Beautiful strikeout of Freeman. One more JoJo.
August 4, 2025 at 11:30 pm #289689
jj-cf-stlParticipantIf you pitch and defend well, a couple of swings can win it. Well done boys.
August 4, 2025 at 11:31 pm #289690That is a win against the $500 million team
August 4, 2025 at 11:32 pm #289691Nice win. Gray, Herrera, Pozo, Romero, Nootbaar all heroes in that one.
August 4, 2025 at 11:35 pm #289692That is a win against the $500 million team
That’s the teams 3rd of the season.
August 4, 2025 at 11:36 pm #289693Great Win!
August 4, 2025 at 11:37 pm #289694Nice win against a first rate team. If they can repeat the feat tommorrow and get back to .500 we’re right back in the running for the post-season…I can pretend, can’t I?
August 4, 2025 at 11:37 pm #289695Didn’t think we would come through when we had 1st and 3rd and all of a sudden had 2 outs. Pozo came through and Romero shut the door with a some help from Noot.
August 4, 2025 at 11:46 pm #289696Well that game has a little bit of everything.
I can’t believe the Bums have used 16 different starting pitchers this year.
Nootbar saved the day with the best catch I’ve seen in quite awhile.
Shildt is smiling.
