After that hit, I had to come see if Pugs had made a comment about the no-no.

jj-cf-stlParticipantDocs behind the plate too.
July 28, 2025 at 8:08 pm #288698Yeah the no-no went right out the window about 45 seconds after I posted that, Forschster. Maybe there is something to the jinx thing after all. Too bad Pallante didn’t keep his no-no intact as that would have increased his stock out there on the open market. We could have sent him packing mere hours after spinning a brilliant no-no for us……that might be a baseball first.
July 28, 2025 at 8:18 pm #288700Well, here we are, through six innings and only two runs.
And one of them was a gift from Miami.
I assume everbody realizes by now why they can’t score any runs???
July 28, 2025 at 8:24 pm #288702But Rat they scored 2 already. That’s more than none

jj-cf-stlParticipantAfter a handful of starts with Pages, it time McGreevey gets a Dr. Pozo visit.
July 28, 2025 at 8:26 pm #288704FYI here,
Eugenio Suarez was hit on the hand by a pitch tonight in Detroit. It didn’t look good.
Stay tuned……

jj-cf-stlParticipantIt wouldn’t take much of a sac fly to score Scott from 3B.
July 28, 2025 at 8:35 pm #288708Really glad to see Herrera in LF. I think he would be better overall at C than Pages when accounting for the bat diff, but if they aren’t going to play him at C, play him in LF. I said a couple of months back I thought he was athletic enough to play out there. I don’t expect him to be average initially as unsure how much practice he has had shagging fly balls, but I think he can improve enough to be an average LF with enough bat to make it work.
July 28, 2025 at 8:46 pm #288713Winn with a nice line drive double and I finally catch Walker making good contact with a smashed off the wall double. Lately when I watch he always swings and misses while he appears to be playing better based off the box scores
July 28, 2025 at 8:49 pm #288715The death ball must be hitting on all cylinders for Andre. Lol
July 28, 2025 at 8:51 pm #288717Haha yeah it must have. Pallante with a really good turn in the rotation.
July 28, 2025 at 8:52 pm #288718Could be the last time, that Matz pitches for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball organization….

jj-cf-stlParticipantSaggese with 2 walks, a double, and a double robbed.
July 28, 2025 at 9:11 pm #288729The death ball must have be hitting on all cylinders for Andre. Lol
July 28, 2025 at 9:11 pm #288730Svanson not fooling anyone – two hard hit outs, two singles and walk.
Sorry to hear about Ryne Sandberg. Great player and from all you hear a really good person as well.
July 28, 2025 at 9:14 pm #288732You never know which Pallante you are going to get but tonight we got good Andre plus the offense finally opened up.
I can’t imagine Herrera will get much time in LF once Noot comes back which should be within a week or two. If Herrera is going to play the OF it should be in RF.
July 28, 2025 at 9:16 pm #288735Just saw this. 20,510 announced attendance. Just a few short of that in reality… 😉
Top of the first here at Busch. Monday night, Marlins, 92 degrees. Cards slipping toward .500. pic.twitter.com/dHnctvfQ35

July 28, 2025 at 9:21 pm #288738Brewers beat the Cubs tonight to reclaim first place in the NLC. I imagine that American Family Field was very festive.
July 28, 2025 at 9:32 pm #288740A shade over 20K tickets sold tonight.
July 28, 2025 at 9:35 pm #288741That 4th level out there in RF wouldn’t have been any fun today. You probably have to climb a knotted rope just to get up there and then the sun turns you into a raisin.
July 28, 2025 at 9:36 pm #288742Me too, gscottar. The box reads 41,076 for a game played on a Monday night. I’d also guess that the number claimed in the box is pretty close to the genuine clicks of the turnstiles. Those kinds of loud and raucous crowds make for a lot of fun at the ballpark.

jj-cf-stlParticipantThe risk is, paying to see a game where you are down by 6 runs after two innings. Did you spend your money well?
