FanDuel // KMOX // WIJRJuly 28, 2025 at 4:06 am #288591Hot hot hot in St. Louis for this one.
Highs around 97.
Same for Tuesday night’s game.
Lucky it’s not an afternoon game.
July 28, 2025 at 8:11 am #288599The heat and humidity have been oppressive. Many a Cardinal dream is wilting…
July 28, 2025 at 8:23 am #288600Its great for selling $15 cups of beer.
July 28, 2025 at 3:09 pm #288652The Doppler Radar shows no green stuff in or around the metro St. Louis area. And the same can be said for downtown Cincinnati where tonight the Reds entertain the Doyers and Watubi at Riverfront Stadium.
I’ll watch the first few innings of the Doyers/Reds and then switch over to the Marlins/Cards. Then later tonight it will either be the Mets/Padres or the Pirates/Giants from Candlestick Park.
One last thing – it will be quite warm and humid in St. Louis tonight. And tomorrow night as well.

July 28, 2025 at 3:24 pm #288658Bravo to your sterling meteorological projections and in depth analysis as to what lies on the horizon in the greater St. Louis area on game days…….well done, Rat! But it looks like there will be no din-din in the Rat household tonight. Watching the ol’ waistline, Rat? Well no calorie counting happenings in the Pugs’ domicile, as I’ll be din-dining it up with 2 all beef dogs smothered in raw onions and yellow mustard…….I may even jazz one of them up with a bit of kraut. Then I’ll add some Bush’s baked beans and Ruffles potato chips dipped into sour cream to the tasty equation. Then of course for dessert I’ll find my way over to the Popeye’s drive thru lane to snag myself not one……not two……but three apple cinnamon pies.

July 28, 2025 at 3:49 pm #288665Let the auditions begin.

ParticipantOdd timing with no logjam presently. Like you said, let the auditions begin. Selfishly, I like it for my fantasy team as I have him and Langeliers and it’s difficult playing them both!
July 28, 2025 at 3:59 pm #288670I’m reasonably certain he’ll do okay in LF. Obviously this team needs his bat in the lineup. If I were a SP’er who was taking my turn against tonight’s Cardinal lineup, I’d have to imagine that after I got past Winn in the 5 slot, I’d have the luxury of a glass of lemonade and a 4 hitter catnap. The outs are essentially complimentary until it rolls back over to Donovan. And if you don’t believe me, just ask Rat…Haha!
July 28, 2025 at 4:04 pm #288671Looks like Bryce Harper doesn’t want to be friends with Manfred. Must have something to do the new rules in extras…
July 28, 2025 at 4:22 pm #2886731td, what’s funny is Walker is 2nd on the team in batting average in July. Pozo is 2nd on the team in OPS in July. Recency bias would say they would be more likely to provide some offense than a lot of the others.
July 28, 2025 at 4:27 pm #288675
jj-cf-stlParticipantStick a bat out there!
July 28, 2025 at 4:28 pm #288676Yeah, Forsch, the recency thing may say that, but a guy like Gibson or Carpenter would say, “I’m gonna set these clowns down quicker than Grant took Richmond”…Haha!

jj-cf-stlParticipantSaggese is at 3B so we must have traded Arenado……
On a tee for ya
July 28, 2025 at 4:46 pm #288680Haha…He gone!
July 28, 2025 at 4:56 pm #288681Herrera has to play the outfield. That’s the only chance we have of reaching this year’s goal of getting 5 catchers on the 26-man roster.
If we can get Pages a few more innings of experience at 2B, we might even be able to get to 6 catchers. Stay tuned.
July 28, 2025 at 5:47 pm #288684Any word on when Nootbaar is expected back? He certainly has trouble getting through a season without missing significant time.
Interesting that Arenado is not starting. Probably just a rest as he has struggled, but you wonder is a deal is getting close to closing.
Din-din? Glad you asked. I have some chicken thighs marinating in a new concoction I saw in the “John Wayne” grilling book. Olive oil, lemon and lime juice, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary and Italian parsley. This will be the third time for these and they are big hit around here. Gonna go with Mac & cheese and a tossed salad to supplement. I will enjoy a cold, frosty one in this mid 90s heat while grilling, then switch to water for din-din.

jj-cf-stlParticipantGood stuff J!
Arenado is probably traded for 3B/C. Lets go for 7 catchers.July 28, 2025 at 6:51 pm #288690Interesting that Arenado is not starting. Probably just a rest as he has struggled, but you wonder is a deal is getting close to closing.
Unless he matches up on a destination and the Cardinals on an asking price. My guess is a much needed day or two off. He has scuffled.
July 28, 2025 at 7:05 pm #288691Herrera makes his first out in left field. Loved the big smile. We DO forget it’s a game that’s supposed to be fun to watch and play. $ changes a lot of things.
July 28, 2025 at 7:32 pm #288692Scott can make a hard play look easy.
July 28, 2025 at 7:53 pm #288693Edward Cabrera is a pitcher I would love to have on the Cardinals. Unfortunately, I think it would cost too much to acquire him.
July 28, 2025 at 7:58 pm #288694
jj-cf-stlParticipantPallante’s K’s have ticked up. A strong finish would make a nice total.
July 28, 2025 at 7:59 pm #288695Pallante with a no-no though 5 complete……didn’t see that coming.
