March 24, 2018 at 1:18 pm #46264There are stories in the PD stating that Pham may be having vision problems again. Apparently he lost one of his contact lenses earlier in the spring and they aren’t sure if the replacement is as effective.
How could this be possible in the year 2018?
March 24, 2018 at 2:07 pm #46269In a great day for watching minor leaguers, the Cards have pulled ahead 7-6 through five innings.
March 24, 2018 at 2:20 pm #46270Impressed today with hustle of Adolis Garcia on offense and defense. Same with Randy Arozarena, who made a very difficult catch in right look easy. Will the latter even make the Memphis roster?
March 24, 2018 at 2:34 pm #46271Is O’Neil going to be ready for opening day at AAA. If he is would think AAA outfield would be O’Neil, Bader, JAG. With Arozarena and Mercado headed back to AA. If O’Neil is not ready think Arozarena gets the chance over Mercado for first crack at AAA.
March 24, 2018 at 2:55 pm #46272Several follow on questions.
Why would they not have four top outfielders at Memphis, noting there is also a DH many days?
Mercado played all last season at AA. Arozarena only reached there partway through the season. Or would you interpret the fact that the latter remains in big league camp longer that he has pulled ahead?
March 24, 2018 at 2:56 pm #46273Outfield logjam is worse now with Bader not making the Cards 25-man roster because of their insistence of 8 men in the pen.
Its nice to see Dud Norris back in his usual routine.
March 24, 2018 at 3:09 pm #46274Cards win 8-7 on a Lane Thomas walkoff single. St. Louis now 16-11-2 on the spring.
Who is Thomas, you ask? Here is the link to his player page here at TCN.
When he was acquired, Derek Shore got a full report from one of his former coaches on his skills (members):
March 24, 2018 at 3:25 pm #46275Which brings up the question: Does Thomas start at Springfield or does he repeat Palm Beach after suffering that season ending injury 1/2 way through the season? He only played 82 games last year and only 9 were played as a Cardinal.
March 24, 2018 at 3:42 pm #46277I do not know, but it surely appears they like him. So he has that going for him.
