Euro has a good take on the din-din banter. The difference primarily is that we do not start threads devoted to dinner choices or opinions. Rather some posters enjoy sharing their “din-din” as part of the game thread. As Euro said, sort of like a group of people settling in for the game and enjoying the party and atmosphere.

When threads get to direct political ideology comments, particularly of the “I am right and you are wrong” nature, which the Schilling thread did, it is crossing the line.

What people have for dinner is of little interest to some, but as long as it gives several posters fun and pleasure, that’s what matters. BW and and UC didn’t weigh in on it, but that was expected.
