DSL offAugust 19, 2019 at 8:45 am #102773On Sunday, the #stlcards system went 4-5. Player of the Day Harrison Bader went 3-for-6 including two home runs in Memphis’ sweep of Iowa. Gulf Coast reliever Luis Tena retired all 10 batters faced, fanning four, and stranding three inherited runners. https://t.co/9ICCEN9k8f pic.twitter.com/mkUQlL2Zvb

August 19, 2019 at 9:03 am #102780Is Bader ready to return? With his gold glove level defense, t would be nice to catch him on a hitting streak. 6 homers since being sent down.
August 19, 2019 at 9:29 am #102792I hope Bader is about ready to return. I also hope that the homers are a result of a good approach and swing at the plate. I don’t want him to be swinging for the fences but rather just be getting a good contact on the ball and the result is a home run.
Bader at a .750 OPS in the majors is a VERY valuable player. Over .800 is deserving all-star.
August 19, 2019 at 9:58 am #102795Especially with Edman having become a starter without position, what makes folks be optimistic that Bader will play regularly even when he returns (no later than September 3)?
P.S. I know what posters want, but that isn’t what Mike Shildt seems most likely to do.
August 19, 2019 at 10:33 am #102799Play Bader in CF, Fowler in RF and Edman at 3B…why is this so hard?
August 19, 2019 at 11:29 am #102808Since Bader was starting regularly for most of the year even when he wasn’t hitting, once he regains his stroke and is back on the team, I expect him to start regularly. While I don’t agree with Shildt’s recent decisions regarding playing infielders in the outfield, I believe he will still start Bader if Bader is hitting reasonably well.
August 19, 2019 at 11:31 am #102809GameCard, while I agree about Bader and Edman, I would rather see Arozarena or Thomas or O’Neill in RF.
August 19, 2019 at 11:59 am #102816I would probably play Fowler against RH’ers and O’Neill against lefties.
August 19, 2019 at 12:16 pm #102823Whatever became of playing your hottest players. Let Carp ride the pine and play Edman at 3rd, Thomas in CF, and Fowler in RF. I agree that I would like to see Arozarena more, and Fowler less, but Fowlers contract says otherwise.
