September 12, 2023 at 9:02 pm #233797Palm Beach lost 3-2 in 10 innings, but Peoria won 4-3 by stranding the bases loaded in the top of the ninth.
September 12, 2023 at 9:53 pm #233802Jacobson with the blown save and loss. I dont understand staying with him when you have the entire bullpen and a day off tomorrow.
September 13, 2023 at 6:41 am #233809Jacobson hadn’t allowed a run in his prior four outings but allowed the tying run. The game ended on a throwing error by catcher Sammy Hernandez on a bunt that allowed the ghost runner to score.
The offense also failed with just three singles over 10 innings while going 0-for-10 with RISP. Tough loss for Palm Beach.

September 13, 2023 at 7:14 am #233813Watched the Chiefs play last night. Bit of a “nail biter”, but they held on to win. Rajcic pithed well! Got into a little trouble in the second inning with walks. He was able to get out of the inning allowing only one run. He settled down after that and pitched very effectively. In all, he pitched six innings, throwing 87 pitches (54 strikes), gave one hit and three walks.
Peoria was able to score one run the in the both the third and fourth innings. Then Mendoza hit a two-run homer in the fifth that put Peoria up three. Cedar Rapids attempted a late comeback. However, the bull pen, although a little shaky in the eighth and ninth, was able to hold them off.

September 18, 2023 at 6:16 am #234061I really like the early returns on Matt Svanson. Hard thrower, strike thrower, lots of ground balls. I hope could progress to the big club sometime next year.

September 18, 2023 at 4:35 pm #234096When I bought my tickets to Tuesday’s playoff game in Springfield. I had a bit of a shock. The Cardinals are selling playoff tickets at half price. I got two behind home plate for $22.54.
