I wonder if deadline trades could open up a temporary hole or two on the ML roster, pending further moves over the winter? Its possible at least, since Mo’s focus is on 2024 rather than the rest of this season. Players at the top of the system should be putting their best foot forwrd right now, just in case.
Agreed, though seeing how little the bottom few roster spots are being used (Baker, Fermin, Mercado, etc.) could be discouraging, as well. Maybe if some of the upstream guys move on, this dynamic could change…
In fact, it may be already, with Marmol saying that Herrera is moving into the primary reserve catching role…
I interpreted the comment to imply that Knizer will be moving along either in a deadline deal or this winter. Wish him well, somebody will be getting a good guy.
Despite scoring 28 runs Sunday, the #STLCards system won just 1 of 3 games as the pitching yielded 32. TCN’s Player of the Day, Springfield's Nick Dunn, had four hits and three RBI. Other standouts: Masyn Winn, L.J. Jones, Ramon Mendoza & Osvaldo Tovalin. https://t.co/FDtggXDEik pic.twitter.com/gdbGZA4wwz
