On Thursday, the last day of the All-Star Break, the St. Louis Cardinals system went 0-1 as the FCL Cards lost and the DSL game was rained out. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Felix Taveras, recorded three hits, one walk and a run scored.

The Memphis Redbirds (39-36) are 13 games out of first place in the International League West.

The Springfield Cardinals (5-7) are in third place in the Texas League North and sit 2.5 games out of first.

In the Midwest League West, the Peoria Chiefs (10-5) are in first place.

Palm Beach Cardinals – Off
The Palm Beach Cardinals (3-12) sit in last place in the Florida State League East.

FCL Cardinals 4, FCL Nationals 5
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (9-16) were edged by the Nationals (11-13) on Thursday at Roger Dean Stadium.
Starter Victor Villanueva pitched three innings and surrendered one run on three hits, a walk and one strikeout. The 22-year-old took his first loss of the year. In relief, Antoni Cuello tossed a scoreless frame with three hits and two punchouts.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the sixth inning to make the score 4-2. Maikel Hernandez came across on an error. Yancel Guerrero grounded into a forceout to plate Jose Suarez. In the eighth with the bases loaded, Anyelo Encarnacion doubled to bring two across.
Ludwin Jimenez gave up three runs in one inning on two hits and a walk. Diorys Guerrero fanned four and yielded one run in two innings. Alejandro Cervantes recorded two scoreless frames with three strikeouts.
The lineup had seven hits, four walks and went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Felix Taveras recorded three hits, one walk and a run scored. Hernandez had the only other multi-hit game with two.
In the field, Hernandez and Villanueva committed a fielding error each. Romtres Cabrera threw a runner out at home from left field.
The Cardinals are in last place in the Florida Complex League East and are 6.5 games out of first.

DSL Cardinals at DSL Nationals – Postponed
Due to rain, the Dominican Summer League Cardinals (9-18) and Nationals (4-22) contest was postponed to July 19th.
The Cardinals are 11.5 games out of first in the Dominican Summer League South.
