He hit a home run today. About 5 minutes later, I saw someone on Twitter ask what it would take to release Carpenter and Fowler.
Was it after Fowlers BA dropped to .069?
Maybe Fowler will be more inclined to waive his no trade clause after he’s officially benched, Cards might have to eat $10M+, but anything they can save is a plus.
Carpenter showing signs of life is encouraging. If he can keep his OBP .350+ and only hit 15 HR’s but with 35+ doubles, we would all take that. It’s definitely not out of the question. His collapse last year wasn’t nearly as bad as Fowlers in 2018.
