I believe Clarke is out all season. Roby is out all or most of the season (chance of a few innings after September 1). I don’t know much about Henderson or Ortiz but the chatter around Henderson hasn’t been positive – as in there’s speculation he may miss the whole season.
IMO – Clarke is a lost cause. That’s the only trade thus far made by Bloom that I didn’t much care for. After he became injured . . . again . . . I liked it even less. I know some have him as a top 10 prospect. I couldn’t even find a way to get him into our top 50. Just so little chance of him actually staying healthy.
I should clarify 2 things above. While I didn’t really care for Clarke as a return on Gray, I did like Fitts and Galle seems to be interesting thus far as the PTBNL. Also, I mentioned that was the only trade I didn’t like. I also didn’t like the Granillo for Soriano trade, but thus far that one looks ok – at least through a short term lens.
This has nothing to do with your injuries question, but I just didn’t like what I had written and wanted to correct it!
Where did you hear Clarke was out the whole year? I know he is on the 60 day but hadn’t seen anything about the whole year.
I just looked him up. You’re right Albert. Clarke is expected back as early as June. I thought he was out for the season. I guess we will see.
Also 40 man lefty Hjerpe is coming off TJ and due back late in the year. He is on the 40 man even though he’s only got 14 innings in AA. That unhappy situation arose because the org wasted a season before fixing his elbow. I fear they are doing the same with Henderson. At least he’s got a full season in AA under his belt.
I thought Hjerpe was supposed to have a normal spring training. Maybe setbacks? And. Would think maybe Roby might pitch in relief in the AFL? I doubt it, because I’m not aware of anyone repeating that league. Or maybe he can pitch a few innings in Memphis.

LHP Cooper Hjerpe (AA) has been transferred from the 7-day IL to the Full Season IL.
He underwent a UCL procedure (Tommy John surgery) and is expected to return mid-season 2026.

So, you assume that the Cardinals tell players when to have surgeries on their bodies. No, it doesn’t work that way. Having facts before assessing blame would be a lot better. Maybe there is no blame at all.
What about Yairo Padilla? I know he had some problems in spring training but I was hoping he would be back by now. Him and Deniel Ortiz were 2 of the more exciting position prospects to me and I hope both are back soon
I’d like to see some updates on Clarke, Henderson, Hjerpe, etc. as most of their timetables were June. I guess Hjerpe is a reliever now? And why is Roby out for the 2026 when his injury occurred last July? I know you want to be careful, but I don’t see why he couldn’t pitch in relief in August or September.
