I saw in an interview where dewitt and bloom gave different answers
I thought that report was making something out of nothing.
My take is they both would agree if a guy was available that would help but not derail the rebuild or blow the budget they would look at that, but nothing more than that. A solid reliever on an expiring contract for example. Or a trade involving one of our young catchers for something young we need worse than a catcher for another example. Nothing any different really.
I watched a replay of that press conference and I didn’t notice any drastic difference in the responses. BDW 3 hedged a little about buying or selling but it didn’t sound like he was very enthusiasctic about buying. Bloom has been very consistent for months about how they are going to stick to the plan and take no short cuts which is why I don’t foresee the team doing any buying at all regardless of the standings.
Of course with the way team has been playing lately any debate on their deadline moves may become a moot point real quick.
I don’t see what difference they had really makes that much. Pretty much ownership speak. The Cardinals are likely sellers. I think depending on where we are makes it harder but they will deal.
You guys are probably right about it being not that big of a difference but i still dont trust dewitt. Blooms job was to come up with a good strategy so i trust him more.
