    With 2 young hurlers who’ve never been down this road before and a 4.5 game lead. If we go into the following week with the same lead. Do we consider this?

    I think it’s a possibility and should be considered. PonceDeleon and Cabrera would be in some serious running.

    It’s a thought.

    I could see it…or at least I could see short starts for some of the guys to keep them in rhythm while still keeping them fresh.

    The key thing to all pitching plans is how far in front we are from the Cubs or Brewers. Flaherty should pitch both series against the Cubs, but should be rested in final series if we don’t need a win. He would be rested for the playoffs. Perhaps you have a bullpen game.
