ParticipantAmazing. What pitcher wouldn’t want to pitch here?
November 7, 2021 at 9:04 pm #176326Edman won a gold glove?
November 7, 2021 at 9:11 pm #176328The best fielders in the Senior Circuit.

November 7, 2021 at 9:11 pm #176329And Wong didn’t, Rat. I’m a bit disappointed, as I thought we had 6 GG’s coming our way. Next year let’s shoot for a clean sweep.
November 7, 2021 at 9:13 pm #176330That’s a great showing, and an affirmation of the excellent defense we had this year. Congrats to all. My guess is Dylan Carlson was close to winning too.

November 7, 2021 at 10:01 pm #176332Goldschmidt has to win it on name alone, doesn’t he? Impressive haul.
November 7, 2021 at 10:07 pm #176334Goldy may have been our lone slam dunk GG recipient, Euro. If Carlson had made it 6, then I think it’s a baseball record on par with DiMaggio’s 56 game hit streak, as far as degree of difficulty to surpass is concerned.
November 7, 2021 at 11:36 pm #176338Pugs, 100% agree. Not sure if you caught my name reference the way I meant it. You could call it an eponymous award for Goldy. Edman and Arenado might want to give a tip of the cap to Goldy for their awards.
I also wondered how many times, if any, a team has had five winners — but not enough to look it up!
November 7, 2021 at 11:55 pm #176339This is the first time a team has had five winners
November 8, 2021 at 2:51 am #176340Impressive showing!
November 8, 2021 at 5:10 am #176341Pretty cool
November 8, 2021 at 5:40 am #176342And to think some want to replace Edman at 2B with Gorman…what a joke. Gorman and Yepez should be the DH. He beat Albies and Wong for the GG. He is the best.
November 8, 2021 at 5:47 am #176343And that is without Yady!

ParticipantI wonder of Edman could win it at SS, his natural position.
November 8, 2021 at 8:17 am #176349I think Edman’s best position is 2B.
November 8, 2021 at 8:24 am #176351Gorman might be able to play 2b D and get on base more.
We just don’t know.
SS may get interesting before 2022 is done….
November 8, 2021 at 8:43 am #1763575 gold glove winners is amazing. That should makes us the best defensive team in all of MLB. If we were looking to sign a free agent pitcher this is a pretty good recruiting tool.
November 8, 2021 at 8:51 am #176360Stop! Moving Edman from 2B shouldn’t even be a thought. Gorman can DH.
November 8, 2021 at 11:27 am #176367There’s 0 chance that Gorman is going to come into the league as a full time DH. Edman will move to the SS position or into a super sub role once Gorman is called up. Once again, Tommy’s value may never be higher so it may make sense to explore a trade. Or the Cards can keep him and see how 2022 progresses, as he’s a good supporting piece to have.
November 8, 2021 at 1:16 pm #176378Then trade Gorman!
November 8, 2021 at 5:29 pm #176399There’s no reason to trade Gorman. He’s going to hit much better than Edman, and while his defense may only be average at 2B, he’s going to get his shot there. Edman will play plenty, for sure.
November 8, 2021 at 5:51 pm #176403I’d fire any front office person that thought like that. It is beyond stupid to move Edman from 2nd…he will likely be better than Gorman offensively too. The Cardinal’s #1 strength is defense and Edman is a current GG winner and you want to replace him with a guy who has never played it in MLB and has hardly ever played it period. That makes no sense.
November 8, 2021 at 5:53 pm #176404GC, I know you love Edman so hopefully he proves you right. The odds are stacked against the Cardinals prioritizing Edman over Gorman unless Tommy finds another gear with the bat. Even then, he’s probably headed to SS.
