The CG shutout that he worked was against SD, so it makes sense to hand him the baseball and give him the turn for this game 3, Pugs.
October 6, 2026 at 9:06 pm #320530I hope Dustin May has a good game tonight.
October 6, 2026 at 9:18 pm #320536So far so good, TD & Mud. Two beautiful innings by the former Cardinal……pitch count at 31. As the game moves on, May seems to pitch better in tight ballgames. I’m thinking this game finishes 4-3…..flip a coin as to the victor.
October 6, 2026 at 9:24 pm #320537Wish we had a great defensive center fielder who was at least an average hitter. Siani may have been one of the best I’ve seen, and that includes this Merrill fellow and PCA. Too bad he couldn’t hit a lick.
October 6, 2026 at 9:29 pm #320539Yeah, I want my CF’er to rip the baseball like Willie Mays, Pugs…Or, at least like Jimmy Edmonds.
October 6, 2026 at 9:32 pm #320541Padres get a run, but Tatis is going to have to do better than a little GB RBI out if SD is going to make this NLDS competitive. Here comes one of those Mannys…
October 6, 2026 at 9:34 pm #320544And that Manny delivers the 2 out RBI base hit to make it 2-0 Padres. Every team needs at least one Manny. I wish we had one of them Mannys…
October 6, 2026 at 9:37 pm #320546Funny you bring up Jimmy Ballgame, TD. The wifey recently was watching “Housewives of Orange County” reruns that were about 10 years old. Anyway Jimmy’s wife at the time was prominently featured and thus Jimmy had a fair amount of cameo appearances. I had my dear “Housewive of The Frozen Tundra” summon me to come watch anytime Jimmy was on.

October 6, 2026 at 9:40 pm #320548Now Contreras answers back with the solo tater in the visitor half of the 4th inning to cut the Padre lead in half.
October 6, 2026 at 9:41 pm #320549Haha…”Housewive of the Frozen Tundra”…That’s cold!
October 6, 2026 at 9:51 pm #320551She sure can be at times, Willie. I think I mentioned this last week, that she’s in Hawaii. It’s pure par…..tay time around here with her gone for another week. You should see this joint…….dishes and pizza boxes laying around the kitchen, unmade bed, 2 empty Wild Turkey bottles and newspapers strewn about in the tv room. She’s a total neat freak…..nothing can be out of place. She would be totally aghast if she could see this place right now. I already have my daughter and her friend lined up to clean this place up a day prior to her return.
October 6, 2026 at 9:55 pm #320552I’m guessing that the Padres need to push at least another 4 or 5 runs across to avoid having to reserve a tee time for tomorrow.
October 6, 2026 at 9:56 pm #320553Smart move by Pat Murphy getting May out of the game right away. May usually buries himself at about this time.
October 6, 2026 at 9:58 pm #320554JJ Romero pitches a scoreless 4th, yielding just a leadoff free pass.
October 6, 2026 at 9:59 pm #320557Jojo saves the day. Makes the trade with the Cardinals a win for Milwaukee.
October 6, 2026 at 10:12 pm #320560Wow never imagined the 3rd base coach sending Pratt on home on such a short fly to left……and Pratt scored with relative ease. I knew he was fast, but not that fast. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but there sure seems to more lightening fast white guys in sports these days than there used to be.
October 6, 2026 at 10:23 pm #320561And JJ gives up a leadoff 5th inning tater to right to Cronenberg…..3-2 Pads.
October 6, 2026 at 10:26 pm #320562TD? You’re great at these questions. How many Cardinal connections do we see in this game. Off the top of my head obviously JJ and May.
October 6, 2026 at 11:02 pm #320563Tatis Jr. son of Fernando Tatis…..the Redbird two grand slamaroos in one inning vs the Dodgers back in the day.
I think ex-Redbird Allen Craig is some sort of a special assistant with the Pads.
October 6, 2026 at 11:17 pm #320564I’d have to check the rosters, Pugs. I had entirely forgotten that Romero was a Brewer until he made an appearance in this NLDS the other day. These guys bounce around so much that I sure can’t keep track of their current whereabouts. Just the other day during a White Sox game I noticed that Tommy Pham has now played for 10 different teams in his 13 season career…Haha!
October 6, 2026 at 11:19 pm #320565Oh, I forgot to mention that there was also a Grichuk sighting during one of those White Sox/Indian games…They’re everywhere!
October 7, 2026 at 12:11 am #320566The Padres hang on to place a 4-3 W into the books and extend this NLDS and change the complexion of this best of 5. Even the Rockies can win 2 in a row and they don’t have one of them Mannys…We’ll see what happens.
October 7, 2026 at 10:14 am #320591A full slate of post-season action today with all four games potentially being of the elimination variety.
October 7, 2026 at 10:36 am #320594And we all anxiously await the esteemed TD’s(Tough Dominican’s) comments in the midst of these all important contests. I want to see both NL games go the decisive Game 5’s. Last weekend was a ball at Miller Park, so I definitely want to witness a third grudge match between these evenly matched squads. At the end of the day if push should come to shove, then The Miz should be the difference maker to send Milwaukee into the NLCS vs LA……though I would have loved seeing Atlanta beat the Dodgers.
Din-din tonight will be Stouffers chipped beef over 2 slices of white toast, cottage cheese and for dessert I think I’ll swing on through Popeye’s drive thru lane to snatch 3 of their scrumptious apple cinnamon pies. I went to the doctor yesterday and I though my blood pressure and what not was going to be through the roof, but to my great surprise check these stats out:
6’1 238 lbs.
Blood pressure 121/71
Pulse rate 84 ( I have no idea if this one is good or bad, but will check with the wifey when she returns from her whirlwind vacation without me).And today is Wednesday, so I can’t wait to read what Rat gulped down at his smorgasbord.
October 7, 2026 at 12:01 pm #320603Rat is going to the Amish restaurant, the Gasthof, to consume some fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, hopefully some sweet potatoes and boiled carrots, sweet iced tea, some cherry cobbler, and some soft serve vanilla ice cream. Then a cigar out front on the benches in the porch area.
Then home to check out the ballgames. Me and Whitey Herdog were on the couch for the entire Brewers/Padres clash last night. She was tired after it was over. So was I.
r/Esteemed Rat
P.S. Pugs? I am going to see my hot nurse practitioner (NP) next Tuesday afternoon.
P.S.S. The corn around my house has now been harvested so I can see again. Which means I can see the comings and goings at the medical clinic next to me.
