    From the Cardinals:

ST. LOUIS, Mo., November 12, 2024 – The St. Louis Cardinals and Cardinals Care, the team’s charitable foundation, announced today that the 28th Winter Warm-Up will be held at Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village January 18-20, 2025.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the 2025 baseball season with the Winter Warm-Up at Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village,” said Michael Hall, Vice President of Community Relations & Executive Director of Cardinals Care. “Our long-standing fan festival provides fans the opportunity to interact with their favorite Cardinals players, alumni and broadcasters in a family-friendly atmosphere all while raising funds to support our mission of caring for kids in the community.”

New for 2025, fans who purchase an adult three-day weekend ticket November 29th through December 8th (or while supplies last) will receive a free “mystery” autograph ticket! The “mystery” autograph ticket will be for a player from the 40-man roster or MLB coaching staff. All mystery autograph tickets will be issued to the purchaser’s Ballpark app before autograph tickets go on sale. Additionally, access to the Main Stage at Ballpark Village will be open to the public. No ticket will be required to access Ballpark Village during the Winter Warm-Up weekend, so fans will be able to enjoy Q&A sessions, presentations and entertainment from the Main Stage at Ballpark Village all free of charge.

Fans who purchase Winter Warm-Up tickets will enjoy access to family-friendly activities including a tour of the Cardinals Clubhouse and admission to the world-class Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum, plus reserved seating at the Main Stage in Ballpark Village, auctions, special presentations, the Cardinals Care Store, autograph stations, and an exhibit hall featuring a wide variety of sports memorabilia treasures and more.

Three-day weekend tickets and hotel packages at Live! by Loews – St. Louis, the exclusive hotel of the Winter Warm-Up, will go on sale Friday, November 29 at cardinals.com/WWU. Autograph tickets will go on sale mid-December.

Proceeds from the event fund Cardinals Care programs including Redbird Rookies and Cardinals Nike RBI baseball/softball programs for kids, the youth ballfield program, and the grant program. Fans can visit cardinals.com/WWU and follow @CardinalsCare on X for the latest details.

The Cardinals also announced the return of the Cardinals Caravan, the traveling roadshow that brings current players, alumni, and broadcasters to 20 cities throughout Cardinals Nation over a four-day period, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance (January 17-20, 2025). Additional details and player participation will be announced in early January. Fans can get a preview of the full January Caravan schedule at cardinals.com/caravan.

It looks like Helsley is confirmed to be at Winter Warm Up. Does that mean they are going to wait unit February to trade him, wait until the deadline in July, or just bump him from WWU if he is traded between now and then?

This is the BBWAA dinner, not WWU. It is run by the writers, not the team. Thay are the same weekend, but separate. It is not unusual for former Cardinals to be invited and recognized at the dinner. Don’t read anything into it.

At face value, this suggests that key veteran players are staying away from WWU. Alternatively, maybe they are coming but the team does not want to highlight them. We will see soon enough.

Missing: The entire starting rotation, all relievers except Helsley, all three catchers and of course, Arenado.

    From the Cardinals:

Autograph and Red Jacket Photo tickets for the 2025 Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up will go on sale Monday, December 16 at 12 PM CT at cardinals.com/WWU. The 2025 Winter Warm-Up will be held January 18-20 at Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village.

New for 2025, fans can purchase tickets for a Red Jacket Photo with a member of the Cardinals Hall of Fame! This unique opportunity will feature appearances by Ozzie Smith, Ray Lankford, Jason Isringhausen and Vince Coleman. Fans can pose with and take home a souvenir photo of a Cardinals Hall of Famer, decked out in the iconic Red Jacket.

Scheduled to sign at the event are current St. Louis Cardinals players Alec Burleson, Brendan Donovan, Ryan Helsley, Lars Nootbaar, Thomas Saggese, Michael Siani, Jordan Walker, and Masyn Winn. Joining them will be Cardinals Manager Oli Marmol, along with Cardinals alumni and current coaches Daniel Descalso and Jon Jay. Additionally, Cardinals and National Baseball Hall of Famer Tony La Russa will have designated autograph times. For the latest updates on available autograph and photo tickets, fans are encouraged to visit cardinals.com/WWU frequently.

Autograph stations will be set up in the UMB Champions Club and 703 Club in Busch Stadium. The Red Jacket Photo opportunity will be available in the Community America Cardinals Club in Busch Stadium. Fans will be queued for both autographs and photos according to the number listed on their ticket during the designated timeframe and can report to the autograph or photo station when the number listed on their ticket is announced at the event. Early line-ups will not be permitted.

A limited supply of free autograph tickets will be available to order online on a first-come, first-served basis starting the second week of January. A full list and schedule of free autograph sessions will be listed on cardinals.com/WWU at that time.

A Winter Warm-Up Admission Ticket is required to access autograph and Red Jacket Photo Opportunity locations at the event. Autograph and Red Jacket Photo tickets are the sole responsibility of the ticket purchaser and cannot be reissued, or refunded, and are not for resale. The autograph and photo schedules are subject to change. For the latest details about autograph and photo dates, signing times, pricing, or to purchase admission, autograph or photo tickets, visit cardinals.com/WWU.

Contreras has been added to this year’s list. His autograph is down from $125 last year to $75, but it is tied with four others for the most expensive signature this year.

    Caravan details have been announced.

    From the Cardinals:

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the schedule for the 2025 Cardinals Caravan, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance.

The Cardinals Caravan will traverse 20 different cities across Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana over the course of just four days. A combination of more than 40 current Cardinals players, prospects, alumni and team broadcasters will embark on one of six different caravans through Cardinal Nation from January 17-20.

The Caravan is a great way for fans outside of St. Louis to meet and connect with Cardinals players. Nineteen players with Major League experience are scheduled to attend including Jordan Walker, Alec Burleson, Andre Pallante, Matthew Liberatore, Thomas Saggese, Iván Herrera, Pedro Pagés, Michael Siani, Luken Baker, José Fermín, Victor Scott II, Ryan Fernandez, Zack Thompson, Michael McGreevy, Kyle Leahy, Chris Roycroft, Riley O’Brien, Ryan Loutos, and Drew Rom.

Top prospects Tink Hence, Jimmy Crooks, Matt Koperniak, and Sem Robberse are also slated to take part along with Cardinals alumni Matt Adams, Kyle McClellan, Mitch Harris, Xavier Scruggs, Bengie Molina, Brad Thompson, Bernard Gilkey, Jason Simontacchi, Kerry Robinson, Scott Cooper, Ricky Horton, and Al Hrabosky.

As in previous years, the club will implement an autograph ticket system at each stop. The first 400 kids, ages 15 and under, through the door on the day of the event will receive a free autograph ticket which guarantees one autograph from each current and former player.

The full schedule for the 2025 Cardinals Caravan, including destinations, times and participating players, can be found at cardinals.com/caravan.

In the old location, where the players doing the autographs could be seen by general attendees in the big room with the stage, it was interesting to watch how the players interacted with fans as they came up for the autograph.

Is it still that way, or do you have to have an autograph ticket to get into a private area where the signings take place?

In my cherished time as a youngster most any autograph worth having was obtained thru sheer determination and wit in one of three ways…At the entrance of the visiting team’s hotel, near the player parking area at the south end of Busch Memorial Stadium, or during batting practice an hour or two before first pitch of a ballgame. In my estimation any autograph obtained during a scripted procedure designed to make it easy to get one renders the autograph as one that don’t count…Kind of like being older than 12 years old and obtaining a foul ball souvenir while wearing a glove…Haha!

Do you have to have paid for an autograph to get into the room where a player (or players) are signing? Takes a lot of fun out of it if you can’t watch the players signing and interacting with fans.

Anyone else really wishing Mo would just shut the hell up?

Trading Arenado is priority 1, 2 & 3.. Let’s make sure we get nothing for him.

I know, he’s answering questions. But sheesh, misdirect, answer without saying anything, mislead, obfuscate, hell, flat out lie…

Very much agree with TD’s sentiments regarding the proper acquisition of autographs. I only have one autograph left. It’s on a Janesville, Wisconsin, Jaycee program book dated March 22nd, 1966. My very young Republican mother went to see Richard Nixon speak. He wasn’t signing after the event, but my mother caught him at the exit door and asked him to sign her program and he obliged. Sports autographs…..at this age? Great for kids, but I just wouldn’t feel right standing in a line to pay money for an autograph…..all the while, wearing a Cards jersey with the name “ARENADO” gracing my back……and then actually addressing the ball player with a “sir”…..and let this be sound advice for all of our young posters……unless you’re dealing with the president of the United States and only the president of the United States, NEVER address another man whom is obviously younger than yourself with a “sir”…..and furthermore…..furthermore I’ll stop yapping.

You have to have a trade partner and you assume other than the Astros there was one.

Per the Cardinals, “Autograph tickets are required to access all signing locations.”

I understand this. The place to check tickets is at the door. Too many extra people milling around could lead to line jumping and other problems.
