We’re now at the point where a Wetherholt homer doesn’t even merit “other standout” status. Good ballplayer.
What does Henderson have left to prove at AA? He has been so solid at every level. Why not give him a cup if coffee at AAA? I like promoting those worthy to get them a taste of the next level.
All three lefties are doing great at Springfield. IMO, Mautz is even more deserving than Henderson. Hansen has a case, too. Instead, the Cardinals clog up the Triple-A rotation with retreads.
But St. Louis has no starting pitching depth right now, which is why they are where they are. Those who have been pushing for Mathews should take pause after last night. He is not ready for MLB.
As a team, Memphis is below .500 in the second half. In the meantime, Springfield is setting records for wins because their pitching is so good…

Mautz, Henderson and Love deserve promotions. Plesac particularly terrible. Love i suspect is being held at AA because the FO believes he is likely to be taken in the Rule 5 draft.

Inconsistency from outing to outing seems typical of pitchers with a bum shoulder. We will just have to wait and see if he spirals down that path a la Dakota Hudson, or whether he can pull out of it somehow.
