ParticipantWe start and end the season on the left coast.
July 13, 2023 at 1:16 pm #227811Schedule announcement details in this article.
This is a printable schedule, but all game times are TBA.

stlcard25ParticipantIt’s nearly Memorial Day until we play anyone besides Milwaukee in division
. At the end of the year there’s 10 games in a row out of the NL Central. What sort of thing is this schedule?July 13, 2023 at 4:32 pm #227820We are out here (Denver) the last week of the season next year. This year we were here the second week I believe. Kind of crazy.
July 13, 2023 at 4:33 pm #227821In September the 3 game road trip is odd. To Toronto no less. With no day off before or after.

It’s not like they’re flying to London. I mean it’s 2 hours by plane.

Not really that hard to figure out. The divisions really don’t matter any longer in the World of Manfred.
July 13, 2023 at 6:35 pm #227832That is a terrible schedule. They’ve really screwed us with regards to our west coast visits.
Who do I contact at the Commissioner’s office to get this changed?

July 13, 2023 at 7:07 pm #227833It’ll only get better with the passage of time. I wouldn’t be too concerned about playing the Toronto, Blue Jays in September. I’ll start to worry when they play the KIA, Tigers on opening day.
July 13, 2023 at 7:10 pm #227835Looks like we will have to face Ohtani on Opening Day next year. And probably Kershaw, Buehler, and Urias. Then Snell in San Diego.
We might start the season out 0-7 next year.
July 13, 2023 at 7:24 pm #227837Why would we play Thursday, April 4 after returning from west coast and have an off day on the 5th?
Surely the Cards didn’t request that the home opener be on a Thursday vs. Friday.July 13, 2023 at 7:43 pm #227839Yeah, it’s odd, but it’s similar to what they’ve been doing for several season’s. I think it’s so they have a day as a possible cushion in case of a rain cancellation. At any rate, I agree that it’s silly.
July 14, 2023 at 7:33 am #227866I wonder if Oakland will be in Las Vegas by next year? Once they move, which seems inevitable, they will be the first MLB team to have played in four cities. Right now they are tied with the Braves for three, if my thinking is correct.
In pro football, the Rams have played in three cities, but also moved three times – Cleveland, then to Los Angeles, then to St. Louis, then back to Los Angeles. Same with the Raiders – Oakland, then Los Angeles, then back to Oakland, and now Las Vegas.

ParticipantNFL – Chicago Cardinals to St. Louis to Phoenix.
July 14, 2023 at 9:12 am #227869I wonder if Oakland will be in Las Vegas by next year?
I think they are still obligated to play in Oakland in 2024. The new stadium in Las Vegas is supposed to be completed for the 2028 season. They haven’t figured out where they will play in 2025-27. They could stay in Oakland or they could move to their AAA stadium in Las Vegas.
July 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm #227883Schedules used to terribly ruffle my feathers up. But now I just figure that if you’re good enough, it doesn’t really matter who you’re playing or where you’re playing at. So often you look at certain stretches of the schedule that appear to be absolutely brutal, and then your team ends up kicking keester…..and vice versa.
July 14, 2023 at 1:59 pm #227886That’s true, Pugs. When I saw that stretch of 19 games without an off day on the schedule before the season got underway, I thought that it could potentially be a genuine problem. As it turned out, the Cardinals played better during those 19 games than at any other point during this season. They went 12-7 during that stretch including a 3 game sweep at Fenway and winning 3 of 4 with the Dodgers at Busch Stadium.
July 14, 2023 at 6:26 pm #227916NFL – Chicago Cardinals to St. Louis to Phoenix.
Now if we can get the Cardinals to move back to St. Louis, we would have another “three cities and three moves” scenario.
July 25, 2023 at 12:31 pm #229131Cards end the spring in Mesa, Arizona to play the Cubs. Opening Day will be in LA as previously announced.

Wed 2/14: P&C first workout
Mon 2/19: First full squad workoutFebruary 12, 2024 at 10:12 am #242626I will not post every ticket offer here, just the ones that really catch my eye.
Here we are before spring training and the Cards are essentially giving away tickets to Monday-Thursday games for pretty much the entire season. They cost $6, but you get $6 in concession credit. (Of course, $6 will barely buy a bottled water…)
As I have pointed out before, not all 3 million tickets sold are equivalent with respect to the bottom line.
From the Cardinals:
To celebrate the return of baseball and the start of Spring Training, the St. Louis Cardinals have announced a special 12-hour ticket flash sale beginning tomorrow, February 13, at 9 AM CT.
Fans can purchase tickets for any Monday—Thursday game (excluding Opening Day) for just $6. Additionally, each $6 ticket purchased will be pre-loaded with $6 in Cards Cash for fans to use towards concessions or merchandise inside Busch Stadium.
Fans can purchase up to eight of the special $6 tickets per person, per game. Games available in this special sale include matchups with the Philadelphia Phillies (April 8-10), Arizona Diamondbacks (April 22-24), New York Mets (May 6-8), Baltimore Orioles (May 20-22), Atlanta Braves (June 24-26), Kansas City Royals (July 9-10), Texas Rangers (July 29-31), Tampa Bay Rays (Aug. 6-8), San Diego Padres (Aug. 26-29), and more.
Tickets will be available at cardinals.com or via phone at 314.345.9000. Again, this special ticket flash sale will only be available until 9 PM CT on Tuesday, February 13.

February 13, 2024 at 7:27 am #242655The Athletic is subscriber only, but this is a very good article. I think we already knew that the more balanced schedule meant less of an advantage for NL Central teams that previously played each other more frequently.
A couple of Cardinals tidbits. They will play 101 games against teams with winning records last year.
The Cardinals will travel the second-fewest miles in MLB in 2024. Centrally located teams have this advantage.
"Under the old schedule…baseball was actually penalizing teams in good divisions with harder schedules
"It was also rewarding teams in bad divisions with easier schedules.
"Is that a sensible way to run your sport?"
