Haha…Yeah LA, but that was with Montgomery working. I guess I should have known that the evil baseball gypsies are omnipresent this season and were simply waiting to pounce on Monty’s hammy…

Did not take long for our bullpen to give this one up. The Gorman error did not help though. Might have been a different inning had he not dropped that ball.

Yeah, it went up in smoke pretty fast.

Nope, it never takes too long, Bikemike. I’ve found from practical experience that good things take time and effort while disasters happen in a big hurry.

When the Cards are short on bad pitching, they can always make up for it with bad defense. You have to be multi-dimensionally bad on the field to make up for the amazing managerial presence.

Well we are back on top. Its hard when you have to win a game more than once to win it.

Arenado with a 2-run shot. It’s gonna take more bad pitching and defense to pull this one out. Being bad ain’t easy.

    Edit…On both the above comments.

The Bullpen has been a colossal disaster all year, the bad news they really have no one at AAA that can provide any help.

They will need a serious revamping in the off-season, and there is not a lot of help in the organization.

Sometimes watching two mediocre teams battle it out is the most entertaining!

Seems like BP’s are almost always a little dicey, but when you combine a lousy BP with a lousy 5 man…Well, keep watching.

DeJong has really regressed since his hot start. Looks like the same guy we have seen the last five years. But then that is what you would expect. Other than maybe in the steroid era, mediocre-to-poor hitters who have been around a few years do not just suddenly get good.

Dal Maxvill did not suddenly turn into a good hitter in his sixth year.

This Leahy is a big dude. But then most pitchers are. The game very early on beloved to where big guys were usually pitchers – Cy Young, Christy Mathewson, Babe Ruth.

Now Robert puts one in orbit. Tie game – sevens are wild.

Well, look on the bright side. There’s a chance we’ll see fairy tale, make believe baserunners.

I’m pretty sure Confucius said that. Or maybe it was Mr. Miyagi.

Gorman needs to get a different glove.

    Gorman is not a 2nd baseman…..he is either a 1b or a DH

Robert is very talented. He can’t seem to stay healthy, but he’d be a heck of CF for us. The White Sox getting him was really my realization that Mo and Dewitt are happy to finish 2nd for just about anyone out there, but once that “puke point” hits they won’t go a dollar more.

Leahy is probably thinking, you can send me back now.

Yeah, these pitchers now days all seem to be almost the size of an NFL tight end. There were certainly others, but whenever I think of fairly diminutive pitchers who were no joke, I think of Guidry.

This Burger guy might pound one into the upper deck. Leahy must think so as well as he is not throwing strikes to him.

Even though Leahy walked Burger, I would have kept him in. He was throwing really good, and what the heck. Let the kid work out of it. It’s not like we are in a pennant race or anything.

I thought Walker was a DH and Burleson and Baker are 1B.

Not sure about a different glove, bikemike. Tonight, he looks like he needs the initials “DH” by his name.

In fairness to Gorman though, I’ve been thinking he’s made progress at 2B this year. I’ve missed a lot of games recently and haven’t look at the stats, so I might we way off on that.
