Waino doesn’t hit 89 too much, but I doubt it would help anyway. We lost his last few starts, but he’s been pitching into the 6th and not getting blown out. He’s given us a chance at least. Last night, Mikolas gave up 6 ER in 6 innings, but the pen did well. If it does well today we could potantially win it.

9. Tommy Edman (S) CFOne may wonder, why drop Gorman out of the middle of the order and not also Contreras? Besides the 80 million reasons, I mean. I think the reason is Contreras’s June OPS+ is 88 whilst Gorman’s is 32, which is akin to sending a cardboard cutout of him up there to stand in. DeJong’s June OPS+ is 60, which maybe is a glossy laminated cardboard cutout, but he is already down in the order, so there is nowhere to go but the bench, and they seem to want to keep Edman in CF. Its hard to win with the lineup all full of chum. Maybe when Noot returns Edman will go to short.
Well Bling, Contreras hit a homer yesterday so of course we have to move him into the cleanup spot. Duh!
Should be a dandy today. As we all know, even a blind hog in the forest finds an acorn every now and then….
The game started but I can’t turn it on until we’re done with this episode of power rangers. But I see from gamecast that Babe Ruth Gorman already struck out with the the bases loaded in the first. If he sucks so bad he can’t put it in play, then he should bunt. At least the defense would have to make a play.
Wainwright traded his first pitch for a tater, Bling. Gorman looked bad on the bases jammed swinging K. The pitch really fooled him.
At holiday world today so not able to watch anyway. Waino seems to be pitching ok, will the bullpen hold up, that is the question. Surely we can win at least one here, the Mets suck too.
The Reds have won 6 in a row and are only a half game back in the NLC. They went 3-22 to start last season and that season was effectively over at the end of April as they went on to lose 100 games in ’22.
This is killing me…Even the Cubbies have won 5 in a row and are only 2.5 back. One of these days I may look to the East and watch the sunset.
Yeah, I’d like to think he was going to get number 198, but with a 1 run lead, that may be a reach. I hope he walks out there for the 7th.
Anybody still watching. Got it on gameday. 9th inning stoll up 1 run. Could win it today! No hits today from Nado or Contreras so far.
