Hopefully Yepez can do something with the bat because his defense in LF is a bit scary.

I had that same feeling, Bling. I don’t want to jinx it, but with that ERA and W/L record, he’s due for a rough turn. I’m reasonably sure he ain’t Koufax…

Din din is a pork loin roast, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, and for desert, homemade apple dumplings.

I don’t love seeing Yepez in the lineup or in left. I believe he has had reverse splits in his career where he’s better against righties. Donovan can hit lefties well and he’s clearly superior in left. But oh well. I’ll cross my fingers and hope they just hit the balls to left right at Yepez and the only steps he has to take are when he runs onto the field to start the inning and off the field when it’s over.

And Bling, I also have a feeling that Steeple’s ERA is going up – maybe not early, but at some point in the game.

Yepez is downright frightening in the field! I like the guy though, from what you see on TV. He seems like a good teammate who enjoys the game. Hope he does well. And since we haven’t seen much of him this year, maybe he’s upped his defense from last year.

Things starting out well. Goldy scores on an Arenado triple and Yepez catches a Swanson deep fly on the track in the 1st.

We are having tamales and tacos for din-din. A perfect dinner to have with a beer, but am going with ice cold, clear water.

The hitting machine known as Knizner singles and later scores on a Contreras single, with an Edman sac bunt sandwiched in between. Cards up 2-0.

Had a Chick-fil-A spicy southwest salad for dinner followed by some homemade vanilla ice cream spun in my gelato maker.

Wonder why the Cardinals never gave Wisdom much of an opportunity?

Nice to get the ground ball. Not so nice to need 5 runs.

Yeah, Bikemike…Wisdom was around when Gyorko was the primary Cardinal at 3B. You’d think they’d have given him more looks prior to sending him off.

C’mon, Nootz, push these baserunners across.

Man, I thought they had Yepez thrown out at HP. Nice job to avoid the tag!

Yeah Euro, I was hoping maybe they’d start the runners, but didn’t think they would down by 3. As hard as that ball was hit, it still might not have done any good, but Swanson may have been out of position covering 2B.

VerHagen getting abused. Wrong sport, but I just heard Dandy Don singing in my ear.

I don’t think we are going to win this one tonight. Another game our starter doesn’t go past five innings. But two out of three isn’t bad.

It’s hard to win when you’re giving up an extra base hit an inning, pretty much. The Cards could be in it if they could time their own hits a little better.

Yep willie, gotta start stringing together a bunch of two out of threes.
