You folks think we have bad days? The Reds had a 9-0 lead on Pittsburgh last night and lost the game 13-12. At one point the Pirates scored 13 straight runs.

That’s a killer for the Reds.

Yeah, that type of loss this late is almost certainly a death knell for Cincinnati. That’s a shame.

Walker with a fielding error in the first.

San Diego jumps out to a 3-run lead with a home run by Soto.

Walker misplays a ball and they call it a triple.

Cardinals now down 5-0 after an error by Lopez.

I don’t remember Wacha pitching like this when he played for us. Same guy?

    Yes, it’s the same guy.

Wacha was really effective for the Cardinals the first year or two, then he started having injury issues.

Looks like he has finally found his form, though underlying metrics aren’t as sparkly as his ERA.

Padres had bases loaded, nobody out. One run had already scored on bases loaded.

Rom escaped with a popup and double play.

    6-0 Padres

Late tuning in to KMOX, ugh. Rom is not making Mo look smart.

Well, Flaherty has been a disaster for the Orioles as well. He had an ERA of something like 7.33 before he was demoted to the bullpen.

Rom has 4 K’s so far, but giving up way too many extra base hits.

Though some of those hits were actually errors.

The Cardinals are now bringing in last night’s hero to see if he can stem the bleeding.

Well, Pete Hansen pitched at Memphis today, one inning of zero run ball.

Just wondering what everyone thinks of what might be Jordan Walker’s long term status as far as being our rightfielder?

Also, something puzzles me. TJ Friedl of the Reds got credit with an inside-the-park-homerun yesterday. Not sure how that can be when the rightfielder failed to pick up the ball on the ground and basically over-ran it as a result?

Here’s the link. You make the call. Bad part is you have to listen to Sadak here.

Walker needs to look a little less bewildered out there on the grass, and another 20 or 30 points on the BA would also be welcome.

And official scorers need to lay off the sauce till after the game.

I guess I can slip off to bed now confident that our birds will not stage a dramatic late-inning comeback.

Early in the season, when the team is trying to compete, he should be relegated to DH unless he shows vast improvement.

I hope his offseason training consists of at least 4 hours per day catching fly balls.
