That’s a killer for the Reds.

Wacha was really effective for the Cardinals the first year or two, then he started having injury issues.
Looks like he has finally found his form, though underlying metrics aren’t as sparkly as his ERA.
Padres had bases loaded, nobody out. One run had already scored on bases loaded.
Rom escaped with a popup and double play.

Well, Flaherty has been a disaster for the Orioles as well. He had an ERA of something like 7.33 before he was demoted to the bullpen.
Rom has 4 K’s so far, but giving up way too many extra base hits.
Though some of those hits were actually errors.
Just wondering what everyone thinks of what might be Jordan Walker’s long term status as far as being our rightfielder?
Also, something puzzles me. TJ Friedl of the Reds got credit with an inside-the-park-homerun yesterday. Not sure how that can be when the rightfielder failed to pick up the ball on the ground and basically over-ran it as a result?

Walker needs to look a little less bewildered out there on the grass, and another 20 or 30 points on the BA would also be welcome.
I guess I can slip off to bed now confident that our birds will not stage a dramatic late-inning comeback.

Early in the season, when the team is trying to compete, he should be relegated to DH unless he shows vast improvement.
I hope his offseason training consists of at least 4 hours per day catching fly balls.
