Would like to see Burly hitting second, but more importantly Goldy third for awhile.

No, it’s not. And at 20 HR’s and 65 RBI’s, he’s not through this season. He’d have collected at least 10 more RBI’s to this point if he’d not been placed in a table setter slot in the line-up all season. And despite the fact that his manager doesn’t know how to utilize him or any other player on this team, he’ll still collect 25 HR’s and at least 80 RBI’s by season’s end. It’s a crying shame that names like Nootbar, Gorman, Contreras and even Donovan have routinely been placed where he belongs in the line-up.

Yeah Bling Winn has a couple singles for hits outa the infield just the last 2 innings. Goldy, Nado, Contreras, Winn and I thunk Palacano just combined for 4 runs in the 7th off of singles and a double. May have included Burly. Watching on gameday. Hope we get some good closing today.

I’m in entire agreement with you, Bling, and the 6-4 positions are the two most crucial in regards to having those two positions consistently dialed in. Think about it…Mazeroski/Alley, Smith/Herr, Conception/Morgan, Tramell/Whitaker, Kessinger/Beckert, Aparicio/Fox, Russell/Lopes, Bowa/Trillo… No one will ever convince me that the fact that these guys were consistently manning up together on the middle IF didn’t contribute to the fact that they not only created an almost non-pourous IF, but also that being in there every day provided them with the precise timing and rhythm of a finely tuned machine that turned GIDP’s into a thing of beauty. All of the all-time great 6-4’s played 140 to 150 games together every season.

It was nice to win. Good job. I don’t like seeing the starter only go 5.1 and needing 5 pitchers to get through the game. But the Muts starter only wnt 4 and used 6 pitchers, so they were more of a mess than us today. Sometimes its good to be playing a bad team.

I was especially glad to wee Winn get a couple hits. Its not a good situation for him to be walking into, after we’ve thrown in the towel. But he has time for a good into and will know what he needs to work on for next year.

Is Dakota Hudson turning into another Jeff Suppan?

Haha!…The was probably a subconcious sort of purpose pitch…I just never cared too much for Maxvill when I was a kid. He took up that 8 slot and it seemed like any member of what was then the 4 man had a better chance to push across a run or reach base than Maxy. It wasn’t until later on that I learned to appreciate what Maxvill brought to those 60’s Cardinal teams. And I also don’t feel like the Maxy/Javy combo comes near to Smith/Herr. Tommy Herr was a pernnial GG’er at 2B who just happened to play his entire career alongside of Ryno, who with the possible exception of Morgan, is who I feel was greatest 2B’man I ever saw play.

Congratulations to Hudson on being penciled in as a starter for 2024. Now, Mo only has to find two and if Thompson finishes strong just one.

Nathan you are forgetting about McGreevy and Graceffo. On the TCN top prospects list they are top 5, and I believe their expected debut is 2024. Not necessarily opening day, though.

Mo said three starters. He didn’t say all three would be locks to make the rotation. I think some people have expectations that are unlikely.
