I didn’t see it mentioned bu Naughton was placed on the IL with a forearm strain and Cabrera was recalled from Memphis.

Cards667…With the exception of a couple of those dreaded streaming games, I’m almost never left high and dry so to speak, but they shuffle the games around quite a bit. The problem today was when I checked to make sure Redbird game was scheduled to be broadcast on Bally Extra, the message that I mentioned was displayed on the TV screen until 5:30. My complaint is the constant shuffling. It’s almost as bad as a health plan…

Five ft. foul. Can’t catch a break.

Nice to get on the board early.

Bad decision by the MIL CF’er leads to another one.

Nice 1-2-3 on 12 pitches by from Monte. I’d forgotten that sort of thing was a possibility.

This channel isn’t included in our cable package, so I’m high and dry. Monty must have been out sick that day they went over how to look terrible right out of the box.

That’s no good, Bling. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to tune in until the proverbial 11th hour. It’s nonsense.

Walker looks like he can hit…2 run tater!

I’m not unlike some others who are wondering why Walker’s been consistently placed in RF as opposed to LF. I was always led to understand that common knowledge dictates that the RF position’s substantially more difficult to master than is LF.

Maybe they are starting Walker at the most challenging position they think he can play. He could move later if need be. They already know Noot and Carlson can play RF.

I hope Hicks does not see the mound tonight.

Just tuned in to see Monty K Voit and then K the side. What the heck’s going on tonight? It already 6-0, but did they put the numbers in the wrong column? Any signs of tension in the Cards’ dugout? It might take a minute to adjust to boring baseball like this.

PDJ update. Played SS 5 innings for Palm Beach today. 0-2 at the dish. Hitting .111 so far.

Not too many can watch the game Euro. Its on some obscure Bally channel that is an extra subscription fee I think. I know I don’t get it with my cable package.

That’s what I don’t understand, Bling. The Nootz is skint-up, but he was in LF before he was placed among the infirm, and Carlson’s played plenty of RF. It doesn’t make sense or even nonsense. Walker had a little trouble tonight out in RF where he looked a little unsure of a carom off of the base of the RF wall. It wasn’t a bad play, but he simply didn’t look at all comfortable.

That stinks, bling. Unless you know for absolutely sure, you might get your remote and search the guide for “Cardinals” — sometimes a cable company has a really obscure alternate channel, something like Channel 22737, where they’ll show the game. Another option might be if you have a Bally login for streaming, courtesy of your cable package, where you can view it.

That’s the thing with Walker. He’s made a couple bad plays, but usually it’s just that he doesn’t look comfortable out there — lacks familiarity. Hopefully that is all and he will progress. Compare that with Carlson who looks like a natural. He’s smooth as silk, CF or wherever.

What stinks, Euro, is the simple fact that they even moved the broadcast to an alternate channel to broadcast a hockey game for a team that was eliminated earlier in the week.

I agree, Euro. So why isn’t Walker placed over in what’s always been deemed the least difficult OF position? Is he touted to have a RF type arm? If so, I’ve never heard that mentioned as the reason for placing the rookie OF’er in RF.

I hope Hicks does not see the mound tonight.

Monty just made it through 6 on 91 pitches. So even if he is done, that leaves VerHagen, Gio, and Helsley to wrap it up. I think we are now safe.

1td, your arm comment I believe is a big part of it. I’ve read Walker has the arm for RF. Unlike the other attributes, a gun for RF can’t be developed.

Finally got a quality start. I wonder when/if we will get one from a home grown.

I think with Walker its mostly that he is an infielder transitioning to outfield. The difference between the corners is more in the arm strength area, with the right fielder needing to be able to make the throw to 3B.
