I wonder how Oli has the relievers queued up today. If Hicks is included, I don’t want him in the 8th or 9th, I’d rather it be the 7th.

Knizner’s like money in the bank at the plate.

He told me on one acid trip he was lying down on shag carpet (remember that from the 70s?) and the carpet strands started growing and could tie you up like Gulliver.

Sounds about right Euro…now if you see Lilliputs doing the rigging you’re in trouble

Pallante has to buy Flaherty and VerHagen dinner.

Goldy seems to be seeing the baseball real well. He took quite a few nice rips while I was watching him in the WBC. I fully expect him to go on a 2 or 3 week extra base tear in a minute or two.

Boy, this Hicks is trying to work himself into a ticket elsewhere.

You bring Hicks in with that poor command and you have to figure you will give up a run. Way too risky to use in close and late situations.

Hicks passing out gifts left and right to the Jays. Please limit his use to blowout situations in the future if you must keep him on the active roster. He’s just not a pitcher and they don’t know how to turn him into one — after how many years?

Hicks is Alex Reyes 2.0. He can throw 1000 MPH but is either hurt, wild, or ineffective or all of the above. Not having Gallegos is hurting.

    Why, why why?

He is not a pitcher, just a hard thrower. Shudda got rid of the bum 2 years ago

Why would any manager, after seeing Hicks on Thursday stick him out there in the 8th inning again! Everybody on the team busting there butts and here comes Hicks again! If we hang on it’ll be great but if we lose we got just what that decision deserved

Hicks was unlucky on opening day some would say.

    Today he just plain sucked!

I know it’s early but he’s working his way into almost unusable in any game with any sort of lead…..so far!

Helsley cleans up Hick’s mess. But how does his early entrance impact his likelihood for saving the game?

I will say again! My son against Jordan Hicks in HS and he has not improved at all! Still can’t throw strikes, period! You would hope after 5 years in the organization his control would improve! I think it is safe to say it is never going to get better!

Is he the pitching version of Matt Carp? I can’t take 5 more years of his lousy butt!

A total of 10 (TEN) BB’s for Cardinal pitchers so far today…If they hold on for a W, I’d say they should all attend mass and offer up alms before tomorrow’s game…

Jordan’s got a nice, controlled, RH’ed rip. Edit; Still real early, but it might not be too long before it’s time to move him up in the order.

Yes, with Gio I think the Cards would’ve won yesterday.

As for Alex Reyes 2.0, that is true in a lot of ways. However, I think without the injuries and with more consistent reps, Alex would’ve figured out how to harness all of his stuff into being a very good pitcher. I don’t see that with Hicks, even if he had been injury free. Hard to put in it words, but the best description I can give is I saw consistency in Reyes’ wildness while I see total randomness in Hicks’ wildness.

Nice to see Helsley grit out the save.

Also nice to see the boys respond in a “must win” situation, lol.
