Lucky for Redbird fans, Verlander’s never been good when money’s been pushed to the center of the table. He’s what I think could be termed suspect
November 3, 2022 at 7:45 pm #206004Verlander moves the runners up with a two out BB.
November 3, 2022 at 7:47 pm #206005Jammed up.
November 3, 2022 at 10:38 pm #206013Marsh strikes out with runners on 1st and 3rd, one out, in the bottom of the 8th, down 3-2, swinging from his heels. Put the freaking ball in play. If there was ever a time to shorten up and focus on contact, that was it. It’s just not in the arsenal of so many guys. Probably means a loss.
November 3, 2022 at 11:15 pm #206015The K wtih a runner at 3B and 1 out proves to be the difference. Plain and simple.
November 5, 2022 at 7:42 pm #206137Well, could be the last game this season. I hope the Phillies can extend it to the limit and keep Dusty in suspense.
November 5, 2022 at 9:17 pm #206140Man alive…Alvarez with a 5 bagger type 3 run tater to dead CF to put the Astros up 3-1. He ripped that offering from Alvarado a new one.
November 5, 2022 at 9:21 pm #206141Oh jeepers, not that idiot Dusty Baker, please no.
November 5, 2022 at 9:26 pm #206142Haha! If the Astro’s throw this one into the fire Dusty may well swallow his toothpick and jettison his safe cracker gloves…
November 5, 2022 at 9:27 pm #206143Sheesh…Astros tack on another one to make it 4-1.
November 5, 2022 at 9:30 pm #206144Not gonna be easy for Philly. 9 outs to push across 4 runs.
November 5, 2022 at 10:06 pm #2061454-1 last of the 8th. Only three more outs to go for Philadelphia.
November 5, 2022 at 10:17 pm #206146Houston just too good this year and demonstrate it by going 11-2 in the post-season. Phillies probably did good by winning 2 games.
November 5, 2022 at 10:21 pm #206147Oh geez, can it get any worse. That bozo Dusty Baker wins a world title. I wonder how he felt about the fact that there weren’t any black umpires for the World Series?
November 5, 2022 at 10:36 pm #206148Geronimo Pena’s son Jeremy, a rookie, won the WS (and the LCS) MVP award.
Rats, park the anger elsewhere and congratulate the winners.
November 5, 2022 at 10:42 pm #206150Pena named the WS MVP. I thought Valdez may get it. He only allowed 2 ER’s in 12.1 IP and was 2-0 in 2 GS.
November 5, 2022 at 10:50 pm #206153I recall when Pena’s dad Geronimo was one of those can’t miss prospects for the Cardinals in the early 90’s. The best hitter on those early 90’s Cardinal teams was Greg Jeffries.
November 5, 2022 at 11:12 pm #206155I thought the Phils were probably done when Marsh struck out with one out late in Game 5 and didn’t bring in the tying run from 3B. Game 5 had that must win feel to it for the Phils.
November 5, 2022 at 11:23 pm #206157EuroDandy…I’m a bit surprised that Philly won 2 games. Astros went 11-2 in the post-season. Clearly the best team in the ’22 post-season won the WS. They’re a very good, first rate ballclub.
November 11, 2022 at 4:19 pm #206552Nothing like dismantling your front office just after winning the world series.
