Another Tucker Tater. This one the 3 RBI variety. Earl is smiling…5-0 Astros in the 3rd.

Verlander staked to a 5-0 lead after 3 and quickly demontrates why he’s 0-6 in 7 WS starts as he allows 3 runs to Philly in the visitor half of the 4th. Good game so far.

Realmuto with the 2 RBI double to tie the game at 5-5 and place Verlander in the position of possibly coming up short once again in a WS start.

Still 5-5 going to the 8th. Good game. Not stressful, lol.

Late and knotted up tight. If Houston loses this ballgame after staking Verlander to an early 5-0 lead, Dusty may claim Bartman’s stealing signs for the Phillies…

The manner in which Dusty cartwheels that toothpick around in his mouth looks dangerous. He’d better take that thing out if Harper steps in next inning.

Dominguez has to know Altuve’s going to take off and he doesn’t even check on him?

This WS game’s going on four and a half hours, but that’s okay. When I was 16, I saw The Grateful Dead at RFK Stadium and they performed for a little over 4 hours. And then the Allman Brothers Band hit the stage…I enjoyed it.

Robertson going for the save in the 10th after Realmuto’s HR in the top of the inning. Got a big K to get Alvarez leading off and then Bregman doubles off the short wall in LF. I can hear the Phillies’ fans, “It’s never easy.”

EuroDandy…Haha! It sure isn’t. In a way, I’m glad I’m not sweating bullets.

Former Cardinal factor in play. Diaz pinch hitting with 2 outs, bottom of the 10th, runners on 1st and 2nd, score 6-5

My goodness…WP puts the tying and winning run in scoring position.

Former Cardinal factor in full effect. Edmundo Sosa throws out Aledmys Diaz to end the game 6-5.

That’s that. The Realmuto HR holds up and is the difference in the game, but if Castellano doesn’t save it in the 9th with the glove, JT never gets his chance. Good game.

Yea 1td, that started to look like disaster for the Phils with all those Robertson misguided tosses. I thought he was going to pull a Helsley.

You don’t often see the ump not grant a HBP when the pitch hits the batter. It looked like a good call though. Diaz definitely leaned into it and Dusty didn’t protest that I noticed.

Yep, the Castellanos catch was a game saver. Pretty clutch for a guy who’s not very good in the field. He got a very good jump on the fly, unlike when Marsh got a horrible jump on the earlier hit by Altuve, who would’ve scored the walk off run.

EuroDandy…You must be a mind reader. Before the HPU called Diaz back, I was thinking Robertson must have jammed his finger somewhere along the line…Haha! Anyway, pretty good ballgame. Houston now under the gun after squandering an early 5 run lead with Verlander working the mound. All the weight’s on the Astros for tomorrow night’s game. I’ll be watching…

Yeah, Marsh started toward the CF wall on a 175 ft. shot put.

The last two times a team came from five runs down in the World Series it’s been against Dusty Baker. All I can say is…..

    HEE HEE HEE!
    HA HA HA!

Rats…It sure was. And the first time, Dusty and his Giants team held a 5-0 lead in the 7th inning of what could have been an elimination game during the ’02 WS. I’m surprised I had to look that up because I remember watching parts of that game as Mrs. 1TD and I were having dinner with some friends at a local restaurant during a Saturday night out on the town. Me and another guy kept alternating from our dining table to the bar area of the restaurant to check on the action. I distinctly recall that when we saw that the Angels were making a late comeback we ended up planted on a barstool to see the ending. Both of our lovely wives were none too happy about our choice of seating arrangements…Haha!

Also, looking at the box score of that Giants/Angels WS game, I was reminded that future Redbirds Eckstein, Spezio and Glaus were all in the Angels line-up for that WS 6th game and Reggie Sanders was over on the Giants side of the field. Spezio hit a 3 run tater during the festivities and eventual WS MVP Glaus collected 2 RBI. The final score of 6-5 was indentical to last night’s WS ballgame. No question that the Dusty curse is a genuine reality…

Getting ready for some WS game 2 action by getting “din-din” out of the way…Pan fried drumsticks, mashed taters and gravy, cole slaw, biscuits with strawberry jelly and a tall glass of iced tea with plenty of lemon. Looking forward to seeing Dusty sweat through the genuine threat of heading to Philly down 2 games to none. He may well gnaw through a dozen boxes of toothpicks tonight…
