Also BSSO and BSSW+The Brewers squeaked one out last night against the Giants by the score of 3-2. San Francisco had a runner at 3rd with one out in the last of the 10th but a strikeout and flyout ended it. The Brewers scored the winning run in the top of the 10th on a swinging bunt down the 3rd base line with two outs. Me and Whitey Herdog were not happy about the outcome of this game.
We need to win two of three against the Reds. They just went to New York and took the series from the Yankees so they might come in with some confidence.

Off topic. Any golfers in St Louis? Going to Yankee series in August. Looking for a course to play Sat morn. Love Annbriar but it has a tourney. Any suggestions. I’ve heard Tapawingo and Gateway.
Well, the bottom of the Central division barrel is in town tonight. Do our birds have the wherewithal to scrape it? Awake! Awake you birds! Bring us the joy of a sweep. Or even a whisk. Show us all is not lost. Rah Cardinals!
Din din today is a thick center cut rib chop in the air fryer, some Aces High sweet corn, a Mt. Dew, and what’s left of the homemade ice cream from Sunday. Me and Whitey Herdog were going to watch the Mets/Cubs game from Wrigley but it’s been rained out today. That means we will have to watch an episode or two of Adam-12 while we dine. And, perhaps, enjoy a 7×50 Palma Real cigar this afternoon.

Good to see the Din-dins going again now that Pugs is back. Could be our Cardinals are so listless at the plate due to eating the wrong Din-dins. My sweet wife put the Kabash on the diet meals so its Deluxe mac and cheese with ground beef and tossed salad. Half a healthy.
Really boring game last night. The disappearing offense trick is really getting old. Glad I didn’t pay money to go see that one. Won’t say who but I saw about 3 meatballs go bye not even swung at. Could be wrong but I don’t think Tylers bat ever touched a ball. Too much time off?
Hope for better results tonight. Go Cardinals!
I’ve heard Tapawingo and Gateway.
I was just at Tapawingo (as designated cart driver since I don’t play anymore). In somewhat rough shape. Tees and bunkers mainly. Some greens are hard as rock. Pace of play was slow last weekend. The recent reviews on golfnow are accurate about the issues. But it is lovely and there is a lot to choose from there, some great holes, and the weekend price is $75 IIRC. That is toward the high side for this area.
Never been to Gateway.
I usually played Paradise Valley. Nothing special but decently kept and fit my budget. Have not been there since 2019. A serious golfer might be looking for something a bit more for an out of town side trip.

I’ve got a chance to play Annbriar this weekend. Just have time find something to do with my kids so I can go. A guy I play with that plays a lot and all over the area has mentioned playing an Missouri Bluffs and enjoyed it and there was a Links course I know he’s talked about too in the area, but I don’t recall the name for sure.
I was just reading some recent reviews on Missouri Bluffs and it’s not got great reviews this summer.
I belive the links course is Gateway National. It’s in Illinois, but golfpass ranked it #2 in the area behind Annbriar.Gateway is one folks at Annbriar told me. I had an 8:02 at AB on the 6th. When I called to confirm this morning the kid that answered the phone said there was a tourney that day. Their website calendar shows it the following weekend. I will call and get someone else Monday. I have played 4-5 other courses there. Really enjoyed AB. Played it about 15 yrs ago. Tapawingo is another good one they mentioned. I have played Creve-Coeur?, The Landings at Spirit, The Falls in O’Fallon, Forest Park maybe?, and the pipefitters course that I hear is gone. Thanks for the help

Glad to see that Mrs. Wooster has our Wooster back on a steady diet of meat & potatoes instead of that rabbit food Wooster has been toying around with this week. You married right, Wooster! What’s heading my way for din-din tonight one may ask? We heard about this VFW facility over by the airport in Madison that serves up a dandy cod fish fry on Fridays. So around 4pm, that’s where we’ll be heading. I love going out for early din-dins to avoid the huge crowds.
I should easily be back to enjoy the Cards game, but I need help in getting excited about squaring off vs these sub-par teams. Our record this year is so alarmingly abysmal against +.500 teams that it’s painfully obvious that even if we make the playoffs, we’ll be taking a quick exit. I so want to immediately hop right back on top of that horse and play the Braves, Dodgers and Mets again to prove that we are worthy of championship dreams. I don’t want to play the Reds this weekend….give me the darn Yankees or Dodgers again!

Din din will be chicken wings with a selection of sauces. Some more ceasar salad, this time with the first of the backyard tomatoes. Still no grape Nehi. Hopefully I can find the cans which tastes more like the old days than the bottles, which are stupid looking now anyway. It was at its finest back when it was in the steel cans with the top and bottom crimped on. You had to put two holes in the top with the pointy end of a church key. The aluminum pop top cans are OK though.
I will be checking the PBP now and then.
Not an ideal start for Neil Pallante, as India singles to open the frame and then Drury doubles him to 3rd base. Neil gets Pham to whiff swinging at a high breaking ball and then Votto goes down swinging on strikes too. Kyle Farmer then singles to left scoring two…..I thought Pallante was going to get out out that mess, but it was not to be. Dickerson makes a nice catch as he crashes into the netting down the right field line to snare Solano’s foul ball to retire the side.
I saw it scroll across the screen Yepez to IL with forearm strain. Nootbaar and Thompson recalled. Didn’t see what pitcher, I assume, was IL also.
Edman dumps a fly ball into shallow center field for a leadoff single. Carlson on 3-2 coaxes a free pass after fouling off a couple Greene offerings. Goldy…..in a bit of a funk these past 6 games as he has not registered an extra base hit over those games and is hitting south of the Mendoza Line. Goldy on 3-2 walks and that’s 20 pitches for Greene already and still no outs. Bases now blooming with Birds for Arenado…..and he flies out to the center field warning track…..sac fly cutting the Cincinnati lead to 2-1…… Carlson took 3rd on the sac fly. Donovan with a sac fly to deep right plating Carlson and we’re tied at 2. O’Neill with a soft fly to left that falls in for a hit…..Goldy stopping at 2nd base. Gorman strikes out swinging. Greene logged 36 pitches this inning.
Pallante takes a line drive off the upper left foot region……takes a couple practice pitches and he’s good to resume pitching duties. Beautiful 4-6-3 twin killing sends this game to the bottom of the 2nd in a 2-2 ballgame.

Dickerson is a career .349 hitter vs these Redlegs. Grounds a hard one-hopper to Solano at 3rd base and he’ll easily be thrown out at 1st base.
Romaine strikes out swinging on a 102 mph high heater.
Edman whacks a ground rule double that skips on over the wall about 2 feet just to the left of the left field foul pole.
Carlson sends a deep fly ball to left-center….and it hits off the wall…. Edman will score with ease on the Carlson double and it’s 3-2 Cards.
Goldy grounds out to Solano at 3rd base.

Reds 2Pallante gets the first two Reds in the top of the 3rd, but then he walks Pham on a 3-2 pitch that could have been called either way. Then Neil throws a wild pitch sending Pham to 2nd base. Then Votto beats the shift with a grounder into left field for a hit and the Reds get the run right back just as the Cards did to them in the 1st inning by matching Cincinnati’s 2 runs. Farmer walks and then Solano singles to center but fortunately for the Cards, two Reds wanted to occupy 3rd base at the same time and that will result in an easy run-down play to end the inning in a tie ballgame.
Cards go down in order in their half of inning #3…….all via the strike out route. Greene should however, be long for not in this one, having 68 pitches under his belt already.
