Sheesh, think the scorer likes Goldy? He will surely win the batting title with calls like that. It was an error all the way.
June 28, 2022 at 8:32 pm #189513Yepez could break this open…
June 28, 2022 at 8:41 pm #189515Ollie with a quick book after Hudson walks the lead off man in the sixth. He is a ground ball pitcher, thought he would give him a chance to get the infield grounder here. Don’t agree it’s this move. Seems “Matheny-esque”
June 28, 2022 at 8:46 pm #189516And Marmol’s move works out as Fernandez gets two grounders, one a 6-4-3.
June 28, 2022 at 9:01 pm #189517Arenado can really play that hot corner. Fernandez looking good. Have always liked him as he has the live arm. When his location is there he is tough. That’s true for a lot of mlb pitchers though.

stlcard25ParticipantCarlson’s last 30 games: .296/.378/.510
That’s a bit better than I expect his seasons to look like going forward, but it’s a pretty nice stretch. I’ll take it.
June 28, 2022 at 9:16 pm #189520Junior Fernandez had looked great this time up. He’s pitching like we expected him to when he was coming up. If he keeps it up, and Hicks comes back healthy, they will have the right side of the pen nicely covered.
June 28, 2022 at 9:18 pm #189521Galleagos is not making me confident right now…
June 28, 2022 at 9:27 pm #189522Whew- one more inning
June 28, 2022 at 9:31 pm #189523Junior Fernandez looked great tonight. He and Oviedo have a chance to stake a claim to the middle innings role. They both have been good lately.
Danny Mac mentioned that perhaps the pitch clock in the minors helped Fernandez. Maybe it will help Gallegos next year at the big league level.
June 28, 2022 at 9:35 pm #189524Albert hit off a rh pitcher-Lh Donovan up…
June 28, 2022 at 9:39 pm #189526False alarm Donovan watches strike three squeak bye on the inside. Need some shut down pitching now. 9th inning 2 run lead. Helsley! Alright!
June 28, 2022 at 9:49 pm #189529
stlcard25ParticipantHelsley with three swinging Ks to shut it down. A nice come from behind win.
June 28, 2022 at 9:50 pm #189530Nice win. Pitching was good. Hudson needs to work on efficiency and go deeper to spare the pen, but we’ll take it.
June 28, 2022 at 9:56 pm #189532So our fWOP went up tonight?
June 28, 2022 at 9:58 pm #1895335 runs on 11 hits-almost everybody got at least one- good pitching and relief too makes a Winner! Go Cardinals!
June 28, 2022 at 10:00 pm #189535Burger King called Euro- they want their fWHOP er back!

ParticipantGood win tonight. Got to watch two months old grandson tonight so didn’t get to see much. Let’s keep it going
June 28, 2022 at 10:37 pm #189543Wooster, you know that will come as soon as MLB figures out a way to monetize stats. MLB sells corporate naming rights for stadiums, fields, sections of seats, foul territory, dugouts, cameras, replays, etc. Why not stats? The fWHOPper is a good start. Follow that up with McDonald’s leveraging the McRib sandwich with something related to RBIs, maybe McRBI (pronounced McRibbie).
June 28, 2022 at 11:04 pm #189546Junior Fernandez is pitching like he has had enough of Memphis.
June 29, 2022 at 5:15 am #189550Junior has had good outings before. I hope for the best, but we sort of know what is likely.
June 29, 2022 at 5:34 am #189551
jj-cf-stlParticipantGood for you Sosa.
June 29, 2022 at 6:45 am #189553I, for one, am happy to see Goldy leading in all those meaningless stats (BA, RBI, HR). I even dare to wish a few more of our birds were emulating him. More RBI and less fWONK!
