Why the hell is Sosa pinch running too. He’s proven many times he’s not a good base runner and just about cost them a base runner there dancing around.

Yeah but he made it. Better than sitting on your hands on the bench. Cubs got a funky hit batsman call last night

Herra rbi Sosa tags and scores Bader safe at 2nd. Thats how you do it. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

The Helsley groupies should be happy to see him come out for the 9th.

Not Gio’s fault they are asking him to throw 40 pitches

If that is beyond him, he should be flipping burgers someplace.

When they are conditioned for years that they are 1 inning, 20-25 pitch guys. Then yes 40 pitches is a lot and you could see him tiring and then hangs a slider.
If Cabrera is healthy you know it’s 1 inning each for the 3 of them. But they ask for more out of the other 2 because they have nobody else that is trusted. They’ve got to put trust in someone or find someone else they can trust.

Exactly, 667. If only there were a relief pitcher on the Redbird roster who had thrown nearly 50 innings since last Sept. 1st with a sub-3.00 ERA who was available. Boy, wouldn’t any manager love to have a guy like that to buttress their bullpen? I mean, with that many innings and that stellar ERA, a manager would have to be bananas NOT to trust him.

What Bob Reed means is they better watch out for banana peels in the dugout?

Well, happy news! Woodford has been recalled. Sad news: his glass crate is being shipped to St Louis with him.

5-3 St. Louis your happy final. Brewers way ahead of Toronto so it looks like we shall remain tied.

Flaherty on the hill tomorrow. He’s had two “rehab” starts so maybe he will look better tomorrow.
