When they are conditioned for years that they are 1 inning, 20-25 pitch guys. Then yes 40 pitches is a lot and you could see him tiring and then hangs a slider.

Exactly, 667. If only there were a relief pitcher on the Redbird roster who had thrown nearly 50 innings since last Sept. 1st with a sub-3.00 ERA who was available. Boy, wouldn’t any manager love to have a guy like that to buttress their bullpen? I mean, with that many innings and that stellar ERA, a manager would have to be bananas NOT to trust him.
