Also BSSO and BSSW+This one stands to be a loss if one applies your basic Spockian logic. But then again, there’s a reason why they play the games. Me and Whitey may or may not be tuned in for this one, just depends if the weather clears out and I get to the South Spencer at Jasper ballgame.
And speaking of Whitey Herdog, the Vet gave her a couple of shots today, picked up some worm medicine, gave me some non-steroidal pills to give her if she seems to have some trouble with her back and back paws, gave me some liquid to give her to help her get over the vomiting she has had recently, and said overall she appeared to be in good health. He also trimmed her claws. For the most part, all is well I guess.
Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Fried chicken, fish, meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, dressing, cherry cobbler, and some chocolate soft serve ice cream.

Well, any given Wednesday night, I guess. Even Scherzer loses once in a while, though usually not to offenses as anemic as ours. Lets hope all these bats come alive at the same time and give us another 15-run stomp-fest. I won’t know, however, til I read the box tomorrow.

Din-din tonight was trout simmered in butter, potatoes boiled in their jackets and freshly shucked garden peas, followed by raspberries and cream.

Yeah, I know the odds are heavily stacked up against us, but I burnt the midnight oil last night, crunching numbers for both teams, and actually, this game tonight looks much better than I had originally figured. We need a productive ballgame out of Pez tonight, especially since he went hitless in game 1 yesterday. Many a young MLer has ventured into the Big Apple for the first time with their head held high…..then left town looking straight at the sidewalk below them as they walked. Your true blue chippers generally rise to the occasion for their maiden trip to New York. Call it kind of a “tell” as to what you have in your young ballplayer.
Great medical news with WhiteyHerDog, Rat. I’ll bet she’ll be turning summersaults by Friday. And I’m turning summersaults of my own over Cardinal In France’s trout din-din and all the fixings tonight. We were slated to have pork chops tonight, but after seeing Cardinal In France’s din-din spread, I immediately phoned the wifey to make the switch. Hope you don’t mind the plagiarism, CIF.
Too many automatic outs with this lineup. We will be lucky to score two runs tonight. And if we do it won’t be off of Scherzer, it will be late against the Bullpen. I am going to call this one 6-2 Mets. Pujols will go 0-fer and be pinch-hit for late.
Then again, anything can happen……
And on a bad note…..Milwaukee downs Atlanta 7-6 in 11 innings. They score a run in the last of the 9th on a triple by Wong to tie the game 4-4 and then Keston Hiura nails a two run dinger in the last of the 11th for the win.
You didn’t do your homework for this evening’s game, Rat. As previously mentioned, this game actually sets up surprisingly nice for our Cards. Get ready for a victory.
Oh oh, I had Edman starting. This kind of throws my calculations off a bit……but I’m still thinking we’ll come away with the “W”. Don’t bet the ranch on this one, but you may want to wager a cow or two.
After Yepez in the 4 slot it gets rather weak. Maybe Yadi and Albert will avoid DPs and fire things up.
din din is a BLT and ceasar salad with a grape Nehi. There are some strawberries and homemade whipped cream for desert later on.
Personally I haven’t been a fan of this Hicks experiment. I still like him better as a reliever. He hasn’t been bad but just not great

Well we’re on a one game winning streak. Hicks had a rough 1st inning but we just tied em back with 2 run rbi by Albert. Got 3 or 4 hits off Scherzer. See hes not bulletproof- just gets alot of big apple press!

Yeah Willie they say both teams have been warned. Hicks definitely hangin in there being somewhat ypung. I’m really pulling for him. Got to be a big experience for him if he can just concentrate on pitching and ignore the rest of the other stuff.
That one batter for the Mets,McNeil, is a professional hitter. He chokes up like 4 or 5 inches. Very few do that anymore. But it answers Edmonds question of how he made contact on that inside pitch. More bat control you have, more chance to hit ball
Well tscurlo, that’s how you are supposed to react when a pitch comes at you. The problem with jumping out of the way, it exposed parts of your body like your wrist or elbow that are weaker and can get broken. I always tried to teach my kids to do that but it’s hard. Kids instinctively want to try to avoid getting hit but like I say, you risk more serious injury
Hey I really like that Donovan just tried to bunt Sosa over. Went foul but I like it. Sosa caught stealing but thats ok. We’ll get some of those. Small balls ok break this deadlock.
