I hope the offense shows up. 4-5 guys not hitting or getting on base is far too many. 2 bats is about all a lineup can carry.

The Doppler Radar shows a big pile of green stuff and storms around Wichita and Oklahoma City heading NE, up towards the Kansas City area. Even with the early start this one is going to be tough to get in.

Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Fried Chicken, meatloaf, fish, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, noodles, baked carrots, dressing, some cherry cobbler, and a bowl of soft serve vanilla ice cream. Afterwards might have a cigar outside on the bench by the entrance.

I, too, hope the weather holds as day games are the only ones I get to watch live.

These hitters, if that’s the appropriate word for this bunch, just have to come alive one of these days and give us some offense. Can’t have all these sub-.200s sitting on their thumbs.

I don’t know how you do it Rat. If I had to eat fried chicken, meat loaf and fish I think I’d pop. and adding gravy, noodles, carrots, beans, cherry cobbler and I scream would certainly do me in. On the other hand, I have a hankering to try two or three of those Popeye pies I keep hearing about.

    They’re alive!

Or they ate their Wheaties this morning.

Maybe even DeJong will get a hit today.

Fantastic start and a good cushion for Waino. Hopefully the weather holds off or waits until the 6th inning then pours so hard they call it right away and we have an easy win.

I can’t remember to many position players hitting in the 120’s range this many games into the season….the failure to address shortstop in the off season is starting to become an anchor on the offense, especially when the OF is struggling

Well CIF if you call below 200 the Mendoza line whats below 100? Not really good enough to carry a guy for defense only. Moes already talking about it. Better turn it around quick

Waino walks the leadoff Royal(Lopez) here in the bottom of the 6th in a 5-0 Cardinal ballgame.

Oliveres flies out to “Pez” in right.

Benintendi taps a slow roller to Edman at 2nd and his only option is to throw on over to 1st for the out.

Perez – Waino had him 0-2, then went full on the count , then Perez goes deep sea fishing for one just above the dirt and that will do it for the Royals here in the 6th.

Just looking at shortstops on bad teams the pickings are pretty slim…Newman (good glove) may be a possibility with the Pirates but not sure they would trade him he makes about $2 mill a year…depends I guess what you would give them….maybe a package deal for some prospects if they throw in Bednar

Top of 7. Amir Garrett dealing for KC.

Yadi on 3-1 he pops out to O’Hearn about 15 feet behind the bag at 1st in fair territory.

PDJ walks. Just one more insurance run this inning would do just fine.

Edman walks on 5 pitches……and that has us thinking of a possible multi-run inning. Cal Eldred, the ex-Brewer pitcher and present KC pitching coach, trots on our to discuss matters with Garrett.

PDJ & Edman with the double steal and they met no resistance whatsoever in the process….runners at 2nd & 3rd with just the one out.

Goldy walks and Garrett won’t get an opportunity to issue a 4th consecutive free pass, as he’s getting yanked.
