Gant unbelievers repent now before its too late.
Gant is doing what we need. With Flaherty out for at least a month, if not longer, there is no doubt that Gant stays in the rotation. I admit he has done better than I thought. I still worry about fatigue with him but I guess we can deal with that in August.
Jim Edmonds made an interesting comment last night when he said that most of Gant’s control problems comes when he pitches out of the windup. He is much better when he pitches out of the stretch so maybe he should pitch the entire game out of the stretch. I hope Shildt and Maddux get the message.
It also reinforces the notion that Edmonds is by far the best analyst on the BSM games. The other guys are just annoying IMO.
Maybe Jim Edmonds has a point regarding Gant…maybe he should pitch solely from the stretch….he has trouble with walks, but the moment they get on base, he goes to the stretch & usually gets out of it. How else can you have a sub 2.00 ERA & a WHIP over 1.500? Thoughts @dgoold?

Bravo to that Sara Wexler who wrote the story about yesterday’s game on the Card website. Finally, one of these MLB writers who actually knows how to write a game story, describing the game for those who didn’t see it instead of 400 words of blah blah and cutesy comments about obscure facts. Bless you my child.
