5’s were wild for Carlos today, but the lineup bailed him out. 3 of Carlos 5 BB’s were followed by an extra base hit, and scored. This isn’t a “it’s going to catch up with him eventually” situation, it caught up to him today.
Carlos has always been a good but inconsistent starting pitcher. He’ll throw a couple gems and follow it up with a bad or average game or vice versa.
I mean it might be due to the celebration but he’s been this way most of his career. This is known.
The positive is that his workload is now more as a starter. Which even with his consistency issues is a plus for this staff.
Our 5 hitter is more of a concern and our manager bringing in out closer for a 5 out save. I’d be more worried of the offense than anything else and our on field management.
