Glad Jack’s first start at this level is in a DH game. Would rather not see him hit or run the bases at this point.

So am I. That was a wise decision.

I don’t trust the Cardinal’s decision making process in bringing him back.

Look what happened earlier with Mikolas against the Cubs.

Hell just look at the entire season with the pitching staff.

Squeaking into the playoffs this year is a loooooong shot. Risk vs. Reward would seem to lead to a different decision. I guess since the injury was not arm related they feel comfortable enough….

I really wish Shildt would STOP batting Goldschmidt 2nd and Arenado 3rd. If this was 1987 the lineup would look something like this:

    Coleman
    Clark
    Herr
    McGee
    Pendleton
    Porter
    Pena
    Smith

or in 1998 the lineup would be:

    Deshields
    McGwire
    Jordan
    Gant
    Gaetti
    Lankford
    Clayton
    Pagnozzi

Yeah, I don’t like Shildt’s batting orders at all. I would shake it up some and go this way.

    Edman
    Sosa
    Arenado
    Goldschmidt
    ONeill
    Rondon
    Molina
    DeJong
    Bader

Should have Nooty in the lineup.

Nooty would have had that pop foul. Who is that chump out there?

Well our offensive start is pretty bad. Two guys just looking at third strike go buy. Minor is basically an average pitcher. At one time I thought he was good but no reason not to be hitting him now. But you do have to swing the bat to hit the ball.

Minor put one right down Broadway. In my world I could have hit it out too.

Good to see those dingers. Nice double by Yadi but they have to get them in when you get that guy on 2nd!

Well great pitching so far by flaherty now McFarland. Our lack of offense has kept the game close though so anything can happen these last two innings.

So this Flaherty kid may be something, huh?

Bader’s at bats have turned into a circus. Shimmy, flip the bat in the air between pitches, strike out, and slam the bat down so hard it bounces way up in the air.

Well a couple of runs there was good. Good running and situational hitting. But now we didn’t even have a infielder on the right field side of second base and instead of a double play we have two runners on. I just don’t understand. I can see shading him closer up the middle with your second baseman but to have him completely behind or to the third base side is silly.

Trying to get too fancy with the shift I’d say

Oh back to calling out players again. Funny I see other guys slam bats down all the time but never called out.

Gallegos has been iffy at best lately, slowly losing it and we don’t have anyone warming up. Maybe he gets out of it but still just wrong.

Two swing calls that were wrong by the umps. No wonder Gallegos was frustrated.

Boy the Royals were given 3 freebies that inning. One 3-2 strike called a ball and 2 check swings all the way through the zone.Still got out if it-whew
