That too, willie. It’s a double whammy tonight.
July 30, 2021 at 8:52 pm #168346You gotta love “Lucky” LeBlanc. He seemingly always puts his team in a position to win. Nuts to inking him to a one year deal …. I’d go three.
July 30, 2021 at 8:58 pm #168347Lucky goes just one out short of a quality start. That slow, sweeping curve is mesmerizing and tantalizing, but I’m not sure I’d want to be 60 feet away from a big league hitter when they swing at it.
I wonder if Lucky is the only pitcher in MLB history whose last name ends in “eBlanc”?
July 30, 2021 at 9:01 pm #168348Who is the other pitcher whose name ends in “x”? I can only think of “x-lax”?

ParticipantLeblanc isn’t bad. I agree with signing him to a deal. I don’t know about 3 given his age. I’m thinking two at most.

I’m sure they’re talking about Danny Cox. 😉
July 30, 2021 at 9:05 pm #168351Picking up Happ and Lester today it looks like they are shopping for experience right now and not young arms for the future.
July 30, 2021 at 9:05 pm #168352Thanks EURO
July 30, 2021 at 9:09 pm #168353Wooster, that one turned into a joke and I was guessing you were playing along with the x-lax comment — good one. But in case you don’t know, Chip Caray made the ridiculous comment about Hendrix. Some others are Koufax and the Maddux brothers.

jj-cf-stlParticipantRun rabbit run
July 30, 2021 at 9:17 pm #168355Edman with a bases loaded, bases clearing double.
July 30, 2021 at 9:18 pm #168356Wasn’t it me always saying Edman is great?
July 30, 2021 at 9:19 pm #1683571982 willie
ParticipantBader and edman coming up with big hits.
July 30, 2021 at 9:21 pm #1683581982 willie
ParticipantWell I was about to get all over edman cause he swung at two obvious balls before he hit that double.
July 30, 2021 at 9:31 pm #168360Yep that was a good inning Willie. I was really thinking Edman was about due. Bader with a good hit again. Getting worried about him going cold. DeJungs been hitting under the ball and shooting at the moon. Never paid much attention to skip Carey Euro but I vaguely remember Sandy Koufax. Think I had his baseball card as a kid.
July 30, 2021 at 9:41 pm #168361Wooster, we must be about the same age. Koufax retired about the time I started watching baseball as a young kid. I can’t say that I remember seeing him pitch, but I probably did.
July 30, 2021 at 9:47 pm #1683631982 willie
ParticipantI wouldn’t worry about bader going cold. If you expect him to hit 360 the rest of the way, then it may happen but that’s too high of expectations for him, for anybody on the team for that matter. He’s had a good night. He has a hit and a sacrifice fly for an rbi which is actually a better sign for him than the hit. He’s struggled at getting runs in from third with less than 2 outs in the past.

ParticipantWell that’s a winner. Solid pitching, timely hitting. Let’s get on a roll
July 30, 2021 at 10:03 pm #168366Yeah Willie if you remember him about this time last year many folks were talking about whether we would be keeping him. Been at pro level a couple years now and its beginning to pay off. Edman was a question mark for awhile too. And Hey- we’ve got a real outfield this year. Nice game Go Cardinals!
July 30, 2021 at 10:13 pm #168368Kind of a tough night for the Twinkies. When you lose players at the deadline makes for a dejected bunch. At least those that are competitors.
July 30, 2021 at 10:19 pm #168369Wooster wrote……So Rats dud you go to the Gusthoff or what?
Yeah, usually once a week.
July 30, 2021 at 10:24 pm #168371Shocked……and I must say a smidgen disappointed that you gentlemen neglected to give ex-Redbird 20 game winner, Harvey Haddix, his just due.
July 30, 2021 at 10:58 pm #168374Well we will be playing against some AAA clubs the rest of the way as many have thrown in the towel.
Cards should finish at least 10 games over but based on the competition not sure what it will mean….
July 31, 2021 at 5:57 am #168384OK, so that’s one in a row. Its a start. Let’s hope the two new seniors can step up. Not out of the question. PDJ is now below the Mendoza line. Off with his head.
July 31, 2021 at 11:39 am #168414I like LeBlanc. Nothing flashy but he gets the job done. He knows how to pitch.
