Wait a minute. Isn’t Waino the guy playing for chump change? Go Adam Go and sign another of those contingency contracts as will Yadi. You guys may make a good managing team in the future.

Gonna be tight right down to the wire. I think the Cards have to play the 2 games in Detroit ‘after the season’ for sure.

Having 3-4 guys in the line up hitting about .200 or below is a huge handicap – even a couple more average hitters in the lineup probably wins the division…..

If they can get into the post season tournament – anything can happen.

This is the matchup from September 16th, our boys won 4-2. Both SP’s went 7 IP, complete games, the first game of a double header. Woodruff allowed 3 ER, Adam 2 ER.

O’Neill and B Miller both hit solo HR’s. O’Neill drove in another w/a sac fly, and Edman doubled in Bader who reached on a E5.

ZTR, the Detroit games are not for sure. In fact, the Cards have a decent chance of avoiding them. Check out the Playoff Seedings thread…

I think we are in for a couple of tough games here today and tomorrow. More frustration with little offense, and missed opportunities.

My thought is we will sneak away with one game along the lines of 3-2, but lose the other something like 4-1 or 4-2, and have to play the two against Detroit.

One win is good enough to avoid playing Monday due to tiebreaker advantage. Check the Playoff Seedings thread.

The one name I want to see in our outfield lineup here on out including the playoffs this year is Carlson. He has truly come around after having his feet put to the MLB fire and, in my eyes, this guy is a possible replacement for Albert – possible not probable yet.

Pst – I was one of those who said the Cards won’t make the playoffs. Now I want it. Please Mommy, give me the playoffs.

sneak peak: Shildt is going with his heavy lefty bat lineup, Edman to LF

Easily cracks my Top 10 favorite lines this year. Well done, Minuteman….well done sir! Mommy is going to give you your playoffs, Minuteman…..along with Waino & Co. This game is do or die for Milwaukee. If you have any kind of a decent club at all, and when faced with this predicament, it usually equates into a victory when facing a similarly talented opponent. Milwaukee is a decent team……but throw all of the above out the window tonight, as St Louis, with a little help from Minuteman’s Mommy, rise to the occasion and defeat the Brewers 7-4.

    Well done, Minuteman….well done sir!

Thank you Sir Pugsley. Your posts are also well respected particularly those that go into detail on meals. My meals usually consist of one or two words: Brat, hot dog, chicken leg, road kill. Have a good night at the old ball game and put some good luck on the Cards.

What happened to the Fox channel broadcast? They’ve returned to regular programming for some reason. The game was on 5 minutes ago.

Wainwright gave up five outfield fly balls in the 4th. Unfortunately, two of them landed on the wrong side of the fence.

Cannot afford to give up any more runs the way the offense is going.

Is it me or is the sound quality on this broadcast awful? I can barely hear the announcers over the piped in sound.

Just getting to tune in now. Looks like a typical Cardinals offensive output. I believe this team is 0-7 when they’ve had a chance to go 3 games over .500. They’re gonna need to find some offense to avoid 0-8.

Two, two out hits and Brewers get another run … lead 3-0.

That third run feels like a clincher for the Brewers. Probably going to need to win tomorrow to make the playoffs.

Well Waino and Miller have now loaded the bases. Even if the Cards hold here the 0-3 deficit really feels like this game is over which means they have failed to go 3 games over .500 eight times. Remarkable.

Miller found a way to keep another run off the board. C’mon, offense…find *some* way to score 4 runs or more tonight.

Let’s see if the Cards can make some noise here.

Woodruff is throwing a bunch of fat pitches these last couple innings. The Cards are simply not able to hit them.

So much for an eighth inning rally. Obviously, the club is saving everything for the ninth!

Astounding how pathetic this team hits. Enjoy Mo.
