Bases loaded again. Would you pinch hit Carp? Lol. This is the one spot that he looks like he always has.
Miller has been not great for a couple of weeks, minimum. He struck out on two center cut fastballs.
That was a good chance to break it open. Sometimes you miss out, 5 runs is good enough. I suppose. Gotta keep the pressure on next inning.
Helsley definitely got squeezed on that curve at the bottom of the zone. The walk costs nothing but extra pitches as Helsley Ks Hayes to end the inning.
Miller has struggled of late. That 3-1 pitch was one he should have hammered. The 3-2 was on the outer half, which he can take to left but has not been on the ball very well for what, the last week or so.
Not a good sign that Yadi was pinch hit for that inning. I haven’t seen…was that due to the HBP before?
25, regarding Wong showing bunt earlier. I hear ya. That’s some 3 dimensional chess though. We’re down a run at that point. I’d prefer to just go for the sacrifice fly, or something, in that spot.
Carlson definitely needs some AAA time next year.

Nice work to get the two Ks to finish the inning by Cabrera. Will he go back out for the 9th or will we see Reyes?

I think we need to add Knizner back for say Williams, just to keep from forcing Yadi to play when he’s really not available
Cabrera was going so well, then the HBP. Looks like he broke Newman’s kneecap the way he went down and had to be helped off. Yikes!
Way to compete, Cards. Pugs looks like a genius and the team battles back a game above .500 and a game ahead of the Reds and Brewers.
