stlcard25ParticipantEdman gives the Cards the lead and still in business!
September 19, 2020 at 8:20 pm #140934
jj-cf-stlParticipantstlcard25, the game is also on foxs1 tonight, hope that helps
September 19, 2020 at 8:24 pm #140935
stlcard25ParticipantBases loaded again. Would you pinch hit Carp? Lol. This is the one spot that he looks like he always has.
September 19, 2020 at 8:27 pm #140936
stlcard25ParticipantMiller has been not great for a couple of weeks, minimum. He struck out on two center cut fastballs.
September 19, 2020 at 8:30 pm #140937
jj-cf-stlParticipantSo the boys have scored 18 runs in their last 20 innings they batted. Pretty good
September 19, 2020 at 8:31 pm #140938
stlcard25ParticipantThat was a good chance to break it open. Sometimes you miss out, 5 runs is good enough. I suppose. Gotta keep the pressure on next inning.
September 19, 2020 at 8:41 pm #140939
stlcard25ParticipantHelsley definitely got squeezed on that curve at the bottom of the zone. The walk costs nothing but extra pitches as Helsley Ks Hayes to end the inning.
September 19, 2020 at 8:46 pm #140941Miller has struggled of late. That 3-1 pitch was one he should have hammered. The 3-2 was on the outer half, which he can take to left but has not been on the ball very well for what, the last week or so.
September 19, 2020 at 8:47 pm #140942
jj-cf-stlParticipantyep, he pulled off that 2-seamer running away, no chance
September 19, 2020 at 8:51 pm #140943
stlcard25ParticipantNot a good sign that Yadi was pinch hit for that inning. I haven’t seen…was that due to the HBP before?
September 19, 2020 at 8:52 pm #140944Nice job by Helsley.
September 19, 2020 at 8:53 pm #140946
jj-cf-stlParticipantMiller had a 2 for 3 Wednesday (HR and double) and has been hitless since (0-11, BB, HBP)
September 19, 2020 at 8:54 pm #14094725, regarding Wong showing bunt earlier. I hear ya. That’s some 3 dimensional chess though. We’re down a run at that point. I’d prefer to just go for the sacrifice fly, or something, in that spot.
Carlson definitely needs some AAA time next year.
Here comes Cabrera! Hold onto your seat!
September 19, 2020 at 8:55 pm #140948
jj-cf-stlParticipant6 K’s in his 0 for 11
and then tack on tonights results
September 19, 2020 at 8:59 pm #140951
jj-cf-stlParticipantI like how Shildt turns Bell around as a righty bat with his pen choices
September 19, 2020 at 9:00 pm #140952
stlcard25ParticipantNice work to get the two Ks to finish the inning by Cabrera. Will he go back out for the 9th or will we see Reyes?
For that matter, how about a few insurance runs? I’d feel better, anyway.
September 19, 2020 at 9:04 pm #140954
jj-cf-stlParticipantI’m going with “If it ain’t broke…”
September 19, 2020 at 9:07 pm #140955Need to shut them down here. Go get them Cabrera!
September 19, 2020 at 9:10 pm #140957
jj-cf-stlParticipantI think we need to add Knizner back for say Williams, just to keep from forcing Yadi to play when he’s really not available
September 19, 2020 at 9:12 pm #140958Cabrera was going so well, then the HBP. Looks like he broke Newman’s kneecap the way he went down and had to be helped off. Yikes!
September 19, 2020 at 9:13 pm #140959That’s a winner!
September 19, 2020 at 9:14 pm #140960Nice win! Glad Cabrera did not let the HBP get him out of sync.
September 19, 2020 at 9:16 pm #140961
jj-cf-stlParticipantReds lost
Brewers wonSeptember 19, 2020 at 9:17 pm #140962
stlcard25ParticipantWay to compete, Cards. Pugs looks like a genius and the team battles back a game above .500 and a game ahead of the Reds and Brewers.
September 19, 2020 at 9:20 pm #140964Cabrera induces a grounder and a double play! Cards win!
