jj-cf-stlParticipant“Popeye”
+1 Tinky
September 5, 2020 at 9:09 pm #138836Gomber is as good as any pitcher the Cardinals have when he’s in the strike zone with his pitches.
September 5, 2020 at 9:10 pm #138837
stlcard25ParticipantNice work by O’Neill to drive one into the gap for a double. Hope he can build some confidence for the second half.
September 5, 2020 at 9:13 pm #138838
jj-cf-stlParticipantSac fly by Bader. The O’Neill double scores.
September 5, 2020 at 9:13 pm #138839
stlcard25ParticipantWieters advances the runner and then Bader with the sac fly. 5-0 Cards.
September 5, 2020 at 9:13 pm #138840Nice to see the Redbirds making productive outs with runners on (versus strike outs).
September 5, 2020 at 9:18 pm #138841What is the deal with Edman at 3B? Something doesn’t look right.
September 5, 2020 at 9:21 pm #138842Edman struggling in the field tonight.
Bull Shildt pulls Helsley(who pitched well) at the perfect time. Come on Cabrera!

The SSS last year made him look better than he really is? There is a reason he was thought of as a 2nd baseman for much of his career.
Cabrera now chucking it all over the place. These guys trying to get cute with a 5 run lead need to stop it.
September 5, 2020 at 9:28 pm #138844
stlcard25ParticipantThe sharp grounder to Goldy results in one out, but the run scores. 5-1 Cards.
September 5, 2020 at 9:30 pm #138845
jj-cf-stlParticipantpull him
September 5, 2020 at 9:31 pm #138846
stlcard25ParticipantHad to get Cabrera out of there. You can’t fool around with a lead like that. With a lead, walks can be crippling.
Gant is in.
September 5, 2020 at 9:31 pm #138847Bull has seen enough. I have too. Cabrera was making me nervous. Not as nervous as the Cubs hitters, but nervous.
September 5, 2020 at 9:35 pm #138848
stlcard25ParticipantWieters has dropped a lot of pitches this inning. Granted, they’re moving a lot but he makes me nervous.
September 5, 2020 at 9:36 pm #138849I cannot believe any hitter is comfortable hitting against Cabrera.
September 5, 2020 at 9:36 pm #138850Gant gets his man!
September 5, 2020 at 9:36 pm #138851
stlcard25ParticipantGant Ks Baez and preserves the lead.
September 5, 2020 at 9:44 pm #138852“ What is the deal with Edman at 3B? Something doesn’t look right.”.
I was lambasted on Yahoo last year suggesting DeJong at 3rd. carp out. Edman-SOSA with speed range should take SS. I realize you don’t want to make a hole to fill a hole but…..if DeJong would go for it? STL needs a real 3B.
September 5, 2020 at 9:50 pm #138853Stl25,
What does SSS mean?
September 5, 2020 at 9:52 pm #138854Supreme,
DeJong would look good at 3B if we could acquire Lindor over the winter. On the other hand I don’t want to block Gorman.
September 5, 2020 at 9:55 pm #138855
stlcard25ParticipantStl25,
What does SSS mean?
Small sample size.
Gant is through the 6th. Well done by John there. 3 outs to go.
September 5, 2020 at 9:56 pm #138856Gotcha. And I agree.
September 5, 2020 at 9:56 pm #138857
jj-cf-stlParticipant“carp out”
2022 at bestsmall sample size
September 5, 2020 at 10:00 pm #138858The Cubs DFA’d Souza between games. That is brutal.
September 5, 2020 at 10:01 pm #138859Nothing surprises me with STL team. They got to NLCS last year. Somebody is doing something right? 13? Other NL teams would be happy with that.
