Gomber is as good as any pitcher the Cardinals have when he’s in the strike zone with his pitches.

Nice work by O’Neill to drive one into the gap for a double. Hope he can build some confidence for the second half.

Nice to see the Redbirds making productive outs with runners on (versus strike outs).

What is the deal with Edman at 3B? Something doesn’t look right.

Edman struggling in the field tonight.

Bull Shildt pulls Helsley(who pitched well) at the perfect time. Come on Cabrera!

The SSS last year made him look better than he really is? There is a reason he was thought of as a 2nd baseman for much of his career.

Cabrera now chucking it all over the place. These guys trying to get cute with a 5 run lead need to stop it.

The sharp grounder to Goldy results in one out, but the run scores. 5-1 Cards.

Had to get Cabrera out of there. You can’t fool around with a lead like that. With a lead, walks can be crippling.

    Gant is in.

Bull has seen enough. I have too. Cabrera was making me nervous. Not as nervous as the Cubs hitters, but nervous.

Wieters has dropped a lot of pitches this inning. Granted, they’re moving a lot but he makes me nervous.

I cannot believe any hitter is comfortable hitting against Cabrera.

“ What is the deal with Edman at 3B? Something doesn’t look right.”.

I was lambasted on Yahoo last year suggesting DeJong at 3rd. carp out. Edman-SOSA with speed range should take SS. I realize you don’t want to make a hole to fill a hole but…..if DeJong would go for it? STL needs a real 3B.

    Stl25,

    What does SSS mean?

    Supreme,

DeJong would look good at 3B if we could acquire Lindor over the winter. On the other hand I don’t want to block Gorman.

    What does SSS mean?

    Small sample size.

Gant is through the 6th. Well done by John there. 3 outs to go.

The Cubs DFA’d Souza between games. That is brutal.

Nothing surprises me with STL team. They got to NLCS last year. Somebody is doing something right? 13? Other NL teams would be happy with that.
