Nate Jones with an interesting delivery. Holds the ball up high like a quarterback on the Statue of Liberty play.

Austin G is a guy I would like to see earn a rotation spot.

I am watching the game on ESPN. I swear that they have talked more about other teams not playing in the game than the Reds and Cardinals. Between the Padres and Indians, I think they wasted 1 whole inning.

Hey JJ…..looking at your avatar. Are you a cent (“penny” to the novice layman) collector?

Of Gomber, Cabrera, Webb and Kaminski as the current LH pen arms, I trust Austin G the most, so this usage puzzles me.

Oh, and I hate that Nike swoosh on the uni’s. I can understand needing the revenues this year, but that thing is soooo over hyped.

Yadi just missed that one. Boy he’s getting stronger with each passing year.

You’d think Molina would have been given a couple innings off tonight.

Gomber is someone who could make a starter expendable. It would have been nice to acquire someone who would provide an upgrade to the offense.

You couldn’t tell there was a review on the safe call of Bader at 1B on ESPN. I don’t think they even said that the official review called him out. They just went to commercial.

I don’t know why Shildt didn’t leave Gomber in to finish the game. He brought him back out for the 9th and takes him out after throwing 1 pitch. Woodford was not pitching bad but the Reds were hitting the ball. That home run was a pitch just off the plate but it was up a little

With today being trade deadline day it occurred to me that many of us (myself included) were exasperated last year when the Cards did relatively nothing at the deadline while their competitors made multiple moves.

So what happened? The Cards got on a roll, won the division, and ended up in the NLCS. How about a repeat of that?

Redbirds hang on. 7-5 your happy final. Aristotle Onassis struck out to end it.

Gallegos was filthy. That guy can close for me anytime.

    Nice thought, Scotty.
That Voit-Gallegos trade seemed so ho-hum at the time. .But what a deal for both clubs. After all of this time it’s still impossible to say who got the better of who.

For the record, the Cards win 7-5 to even their season record at 13-13.
