Nate Jones with an interesting delivery. Holds the ball up high like a quarterback on the Statue of Liberty play.

jj-cf-stlParticipantGomber in a 7-2 game? hmmm
August 31, 2020 at 8:25 pm #137972Austin G is a guy I would like to see earn a rotation spot.
August 31, 2020 at 8:26 pm #137973I am watching the game on ESPN. I swear that they have talked more about other teams not playing in the game than the Reds and Cardinals. Between the Padres and Indians, I think they wasted 1 whole inning.
August 31, 2020 at 8:27 pm #137974Hey JJ…..looking at your avatar. Are you a cent (“penny” to the novice layman) collector?
August 31, 2020 at 8:27 pm #137975
jj-cf-stlParticipantOf Gomber, Cabrera, Webb and Kaminski as the current LH pen arms, I trust Austin G the most, so this usage puzzles me.
August 31, 2020 at 8:28 pm #137976Oh, and I hate that Nike swoosh on the uni’s. I can understand needing the revenues this year, but that thing is soooo over hyped.
August 31, 2020 at 8:28 pm #137977
jj-cf-stlParticipantyes, and enjoy adding my “one cent worth” here 🙂
August 31, 2020 at 8:29 pm #137978Yadi just missed that one. Boy he’s getting stronger with each passing year.
August 31, 2020 at 8:30 pm #137979You’d think Molina would have been given a couple innings off tonight.
August 31, 2020 at 8:31 pm #137980
jj-cf-stlParticipantYadi said no
August 31, 2020 at 8:32 pm #137981We need to talk then, JJ. Send me an email sometime about your collection.
I’ll erase it in a few minutes
August 31, 2020 at 8:33 pm #137982
jj-cf-stlParticipantgot it
August 31, 2020 at 8:34 pm #137983Gomber is someone who could make a starter expendable. It would have been nice to acquire someone who would provide an upgrade to the offense.
August 31, 2020 at 8:38 pm #137985You couldn’t tell there was a review on the safe call of Bader at 1B on ESPN. I don’t think they even said that the official review called him out. They just went to commercial.
August 31, 2020 at 8:45 pm #137987
jj-cf-stlParticipantsave situation now…..
August 31, 2020 at 8:48 pm #137988Are they going to blow this one?????

August 31, 2020 at 8:52 pm #137989I don’t know why Shildt didn’t leave Gomber in to finish the game. He brought him back out for the 9th and takes him out after throwing 1 pitch. Woodford was not pitching bad but the Reds were hitting the ball. That home run was a pitch just off the plate but it was up a little
August 31, 2020 at 8:52 pm #137990With today being trade deadline day it occurred to me that many of us (myself included) were exasperated last year when the Cards did relatively nothing at the deadline while their competitors made multiple moves.
So what happened? The Cards got on a roll, won the division, and ended up in the NLCS. How about a repeat of that?
August 31, 2020 at 8:52 pm #137991
jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s filthy, we most definitely have a closer
August 31, 2020 at 8:53 pm #137992Redbirds hang on. 7-5 your happy final. Aristotle Onassis struck out to end it.

August 31, 2020 at 8:53 pm #137993Gallegos was filthy. That guy can close for me anytime.
August 31, 2020 at 8:55 pm #137994Nice thought, Scotty.
That Voit-Gallegos trade seemed so ho-hum at the time. .But what a deal for both clubs. After all of this time it’s still impossible to say who got the better of who.August 31, 2020 at 8:58 pm #137995For the record, the Cards win 7-5 to even their season record at 13-13.
August 31, 2020 at 8:58 pm #137996That’s a winner!
